mounting tv in bedroom of 2511

With my trusty stud finder, where the sticker was...was not as good of a spot as it was a few inches right towards door. I got a solid 6" square light up for a mount. When I drilled with a small bit to check, it was like pvc or something. Not wood, not styrofoam. I drilled with a larger bit same. I mounted the tv mount with the 4 provided lag bolts, with washers not to go thru to the outside....did not catch on squat.

Any advice? Wife bought a 24" tv to go there with a locking swing arm mount. I dont wanna put holes all over the area in a process of elimination.

I found the sweet spot. About 4" above window on the right top side is a section my 2.5" wide and 4.25" tall bolt hole section of the mount went in solid.

Mounted our Samsung 32" so the corner fits flush to wall where the power/antenna feeds are. Used the mounting bracket from the main living area so it can snap against the wall. The factory mount uses 8 screws which seem to hit most of the solid mount points behind the wall.

Put a swing-arm bracket in the main living area for a 43" TCL Roku TV that is working very well. It doesn't fit inside the OEM cabinet opening but doesn't extend pass the cabinet either. The sound bar is fully exposed under the TV still. I do dismount it from the bracket with traveling for safety.

I used a magnet to find the corners of the backing plate in my Rockwood 8329 then mounted in the center.

On my 2511 I found the plate with the stud finder as well , Had to use sheet metal self tapping screws. I believe it's a metal backing plate.

Chris,
I want to do the same bedroom TV install in my 2511S using a PAW Swing Arm TV bracket. Do you recall the length of the sheet metal self tapping screws you used for the backing plate?

Good to know. A 32" TV is what I was thinking of. I ordered a PAW swing arm mount so I can easily remove it and slide it into the factory outside TV mount sometimes.

Your photo would be good to see. Thanks.

Thank you for your measurements. I will follow them along with my stud finder. It should take the guess work out of play.
