Mud Flaps

When I brought our new 1905 home from the dealer on a rainy day last week, I noticed the tires had kicked up all kinds of leaves and debris onto the dump valves on the drivers side...

Im thinking a rock kicked up might break the valve.

There are nice steel brackets in the perfect position just behind the tires.

I found 12x18 inch rubber flaps that seem to be a perfect fit for this application...

I cant think of a reason not to put them on.

Anyone have advice towards not going with flaps?

Thanks!

If its a go, I will post pics and part number for the flaps.

I made my own after a trip down some logging roads that free range cattle use, resulted in some treats on it which got kicked up all over my septic assembly.

It can't hurt to make some. Right?

Well, thats what Im thinking. Lots of vulnerable plastic pipe there to poosibly get hit by something the tire kicked up.

Im gonna put em on.

I also installed mud flaps since I camp in the woods and my black water dump is directly behind the tires. I had some rubber mat and used an aluminum bar in front of the flap with sheet metal screws to secure it. Works like a champ and it looks factory installed.

They Work Great!

Well we have put a few hundred miles on the 1905, in the rain with leaves all over the hiways and the flaps are keeping the debris off the sewer lines and the propane port on the passenger side.

Easy to install, I used stainless hardware..

Here are a couple pics...

The flaps were from Amazon

"Highland" p/n. 1007100 black heavy duty rubber flaps

Forgot To Mention

I forgot to say the bracket the flaps are mounted to already existed under the trailer, with the holes for the bolts too.

I just matched the holes to the flaps, drew a circle through the bracket to flaps with a pen, trimmed off a piece of rubber that hit a spot on frame that woulda kept it from laying flat against the brkt with a box cutter and bam, done.

The holes were the same on both sides, just remember to reverse the opposite flap to keep the design on the flap facing the same direction when mounted...

Double check before you make the holes or trim anything and you will be in good shape!

I want to put flaps on also. I wonder where to get some of those brackets? Any ideas where or who to contact? I have a 2016 2504s. Jay

The brkt shown in the pic was already built into the frame on the 1905G.

Get your knees dirty and have a look underneath for the brackets.

Plus it doesn't hurt to go check other things.

I have looked but I don’t have brackets like those. The brackets that I have from the factory won’t hold a mud flap. I just thought I could maybe buy them. Maybe I could order them for a 1905. Jay
