Murphy bed

We have a model 2304 with a Murphy bed. Realy like the unit as a whole, but the murph bed sets very high. Has anyone removed the Murphy bed and installed a sleeper sofa? Thanks Al

I have a 2504s with a Murphy bed that sits a little high but is very comfortable. I would not consider changing to a sleeper sofa. I am 6'2" so the height is not a problem but my DW is 5'4" and she also thinks it is comfy.

We put a 4" memory foam on it from eBay for $60. It's amazing now. And shuts with no issues at all. Love the Murphy bed

X 2

We also put a 4" memory foam on our former 2306 Murphy bed. Such a great combo... My wife used to say... "Let's go camping so I can get a good nights sleep." Hahaha.

We also have a 2304 with the Murphy Bed with a 2 " foam topper. I am 6'3", wife 5'2" and we have no problems. As mentioned above "let's go camping to get a good nites sleep!". Sleep sofa would not be as comfy.

We just bought a Rockwood 2504S and wondered about a 4 inch form mattress on the camper mattress. Well, several of you answered our question about if it close in a Murphy bed. Thanks to all of you. Love this forum!

Murphy bed

Plenty of space to close Murphy in a 1905. We even strap the pillows on it. We got ours on eBay for $65 delivered.

Hi My husband and I have a 2306 and I am disabled and have a 8" special mattress on the murphy bed. So height became a problem. My husband is tall and has no problem getting on the bed but I sure did. We went to Amazon.com and got a plastic indoor/outdoor step (put in search for weather resistant outdoor step). It is about 3" high and you might be able to find another height if you look. It is extremely lightweight, tucks under the murphy bed easy and I just pull it out, step up and easily get into bed.

Here Ya go. Got the sofa through the day (as shown)... the sofa folds, the bed comes down out of the wall, and you have your Queen bed for the night. With this setup, you get a sofa, dinette and Queen bed at a light weight and a 23' overall length.

We bought the flagstaff version and love it. I did change out the mattress for a memory foam short queen that I found on overstock.com You do need to fold it up first thing in the morning as there is very little room to move around otherwise.

What about sheets we don't have a murphy bed but a queen size with the classic 6" shorter than a regular bed can you use regular sheets?

Murphy bed

If you're putting a memory foam on top of your mattress, you need to purchase the deep pocket sheets... Fits perfectly. Our memory foam is a standard queen that we just put right on top of the stock mattress (short queen)... Gives you a couple extra inches at the top and bottom, and you don't even notice that it sticks out over the mattress a little.
