I guess you didn't realize that starting with post #14, the conversation is recent and relevant, .... many threads are brought back to life by a simple question from someone looking for help or information, ..... you don't mind do you?

Rockwood 1905 Mini Lite-Murphy Bed
Has anyone else experienced issues with the exposed woodgrain underside of their murphy bed? Ours has separated at the seam and staples popped out, which is another question; Do those that have this type of bed have a seam approx 7-8" above the hinge? You may not know it is there as it is covered with woodgrain tape. We are not sure if this is standard or if ours was "covered up" for a reason.
It looks terrible and obviously will get worse over time. The cross trim pieces are also dislodging in the area. This would be approx where your shoulders are when bed is being used so weight, etc. is not the problem.
The dealer states they have never seen this problem and made sure we knew it was not under warranty. We only desire to get it repaired, not concerned with warranty.
Any constructive comments are appreciated.

How did you access screws on piano hinge . Can’t find access panel. Screws on both ends of our bed have pulled loose. Screws that go into frame work not the bed platform

had to cut the opening myself, ... very thin paneling, cuts easily with a carpet knife or hacksaw blade(blade only, no frame), .... that gives access to the blocked off area and hinge inside there, plus makes cleaning that area easy, and it does need cleaning from time to time, gets dirty and dusty, ... in first pic, you can see I put four screws w/nuts thru the hinge on the bed platform, and also four thru the hinge where it's connected to the bed support, ... last pic is the access panel back in place, I cut and opened up both sides, ... hope this is the info you were asking for,...
