My propane tanks were stolen off of my Rockwood 2604.

Frustrating. I hope they used them to at least keep warm.

Does anyone know where (in Texas, hopefully Houston) one might go to get them replaced? I had two 30 lb tanks....hoping to pay less than the $95 per tank that I saw at the RV dealership where we bought six months ago.

Also looking for a new lot to store my trailer in.

Sorry to hear about the theft. Try Home Depot or Lowe's. I bought mine at Home Depot under $70.

Home Depot or Lowes sell 30 lbs bottle at the Gas Grille area. Walmart sells them as well but I'm not sure if all of their stores sell them. I'd invest some money into a bicycle type cable lock for your bottles so the next time they will really have a chore getting them off. Good luck!

I am sorry to hear your problem, what is wrong with people? I feel your pain I had a spare tire and rack stolen off of my first camper in 2000 at the dealer while it was there for warrenty work. Like you said hope they have a good reason for taking them. As far as a price to replace them, I am not sure I never had to replace mine yet. Some one on the Forum will be able to help with the best price and place to get them. Good luck.....

Sorry to hear you got your tanks stolen. Since my camper sits in a remote forest all year long I ran a pretty heavy chain and lock both to each other then to the aframe. So far I still have them. Sucks you have to protect everything from thieves! Of course locks only keep honest people honest. Thieves are another story!

Figure out how to lock down the new ones. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. We had a nice generator stolen from our building site when we were building our our house and it was locked to a tree with a large logging chain. I feel your pain.

One of my co-workers had someone take a battery drill with a 3" hole saw and drill right through the door next to the handle. They reached in and unlocked it. They stole both TVs and other appliances but took the towels and his coffee maker. Fortunately his insurance company paid his claim and he actually was able to upgrade his TVs to replace the old analog TVs they stole.

Sorry to here about your theft. The first thing I did when I got my 2604 home was to put a good lock and chain on the tanks. I don't know how true it is, but a friend of mine told me that meth amphetamine drugggies steal the tanks. They don't want to buy them or refill them as this raises a flag with law enforcement. Anyone else here this?

Sadly, I am not surprised to hear of the theft. I chain the tanks during the season and then when the trailer is put into storage I remove them and store in the garage. I figure why leave an opportunity.
