Need ideas to secure camp table

Hi fellow campers,
I have a folding (in half) 6ft table that we like to take to use outside some trips. Since we don't use it every time I wanted to find a place to store it out of the way. The new trailer has a walk in closet in the bedroom that has double sliding doors. I thought I could stand it in the back of the closet and somehow mount some type of straps to hold it against the wall.

Knowing how creative the people that belong to this forum are, I thought I would get some of your ideas.
Happy Camping,
Mary

You could use a spring loaded curtain rod to go from one side of the wall to the other and place the table between the wall and the rod, with this you can make it as tight as you want, they come in different sizes and diameters.

Another idea is to use one of your slide lock supports from your slide out, they are useless anyway for the slide out.

Mine opens to a full 3' 10" but it can be modified to make it longer. as you look at the pic the left side of the slide lock where the orange tag is has a right handed thread on the all-thread and it is 1/2", the right side of the slide lock has a left handed thread, both ends will unscrew all the way out, you can install longer all-thread, or you can take both of the slide locks and connect them together, remove one of the rubber pieces off of one end and screw them both togther then place the rubber you toke off and put it on the end that has none......Just an idea.

Thanks for the ideas. I like the thought of not putting holes in the wall.
Now if only spring would get here!!

Samary,
We currently have an '06 Rockwood 8315SS, with the same living room set-up as your '11 8315BSS. We use a 4' fold-in-half table every trip, and store it behind the sofa...just enough room to slide it down in. No bracing, straps needed. Just a thought.

Hi John,
Thanks for the idea. Did you have outdoor storage behind your couch?
Thats the only problem unless we store stuff there that we don't use each trip....hhhmmm something to think about.

Congrats on the new trailer on order. I can't wait to use ours for the first time.
Happy Camping! Think spring!

Mary,
We do not have outdoor storage behind the couch. The couch is mounted about 3-4 inches from the outside wall of the slide, which is the perfect space for the table to slide down into. (On the '06 models, the couch is mounted to the floor...not sure on the '11s. The unit we looked at while at the RV Show did not have the couch bolted down.)

We are anxious for our new trailer too. We were going to go with the Rockwood again, but decided on the Flagstaff because of the interior cloth colors.

Hope you enjoy the new trailer!

John

We ended up ordering a different couch and don't have it in our trailer yet. It came with a jack knife one, so the dealer ordered us the airbed one. It is in, however we haven't got it yet as the dealer is located in Ohio. Again thanks for the idea, when we get it in I'll give it a try.
Enjoy your new trailer!!
Come on spring!!
