Here are the two Diamond Package pics I had. They are of an 8289ws prototype that was made before they used a color keyed roof. We just missed seeing this one at a local dealer. We were waiting for an 8312ss to come in and they sold it a day before the other one came in. My wife and I are gonna try to sneak away to Indiana next week to get a first hand look at the TTs we're interested in. (Sounds sort of funny when put that way)

I am looking at ordering a rockwood 8312ss and one of the new packages called the Diamond package offers a taupe colored TT and other options. wonder if this is what color it is then, new for 2012. This Package the dealer told me was an extra 2,500. Or close to that. I like it.

That is the color. We're looking at the 8312ss too. What other campers have you looked at? IMO the Diamond Package is well worth it with all the options that are included.

We have tlooked at the sunset Trail by Cross Roads also, but they dont seem to have a few things that I want. Outside scare lights, most dont have a ladder and some other things. Very nice still tho. Love the color tho.

We looked at the Sunset Trail too. Its been long enough that I don't remember what we didn't like about it. Thought it had curtains instead of doors on the bedrooms. Maybe we looked at a 2011? Their Brochure shows doors. Is there an option for a u shaped dinette? We are planning a trip to watch a Nascar race in Michigan so we want to be able to sit on top. It is a nice camper, gonna have to make some phone calls. How did the price compare?

Well Cliff, you can rule out the Rockwood lightweights, as their roofs are NOT meant for more than one person at a time.

The one we looked at also had curtains on the bedroom, which we also do not like. No u dinnette that I have found. They put them in some of their other trailers, not sure why they dont in the sunset. Add the color package to the Rockwwod an they are the same price practically.

Thanks Crocus! Of course the Rockwood dealer that we mentioned Nascar to never told us that.

We were at the Pomona RV Show in the Los Angeles area just about a week and a half ago. There was a wide selection of Rockwood models there displayed by an area RV dealer, but not one of them with this color scheme. However, the storage areas did have the slam latches. I guess they're moving out their old inventory.

I just in the last day or two, noticed on RVW website the Diamond Package being offered for a Rockwood Fifth Wheel unit we are interested in.

We like the looks of the new color scheme, and also all that is added in the Diamond package.

A local dealer told me the Sunset Trails now come with wood doors.
I talked to my sales person Per RVWholesalers. They have both Rockwood and North Trail. Told her we had to rule out Rockwood because of the roof so she asked her Rockwood rep and he said "Fully laminated roofs are very lite weight by design, but ours has a ladder opt. and will hold people for their maintenance needs. They are not made to hold 10 of your friends to watch a Nascar race." I am so happy we didn't find that out at the race! Thanks again crucus!

I spoke with my dealer and a contact at the factory about the new taupe colored trailers: This is a package (The Diamond Package), and not the standard product for the 2012 product line. The package will run around $2,500.00 or so, and I agree with most that it looks fantastic!
A couple of additional things: the package does come with corian style counter tops, and upgraded interior lights, etc.. but I did not notice LED lights on current Diamond package, nor do I foresee them being availabe in the immediate future.
In summary: It looks like Rockwood will be offering the same product with the white sidewalls, but adding another line/package which has the colored glass and other additional features that I can't wait to see more of when I get a chance ...hope this helps

As far as I know it is available to order now in the traver trailer, and 5th wheel floor plans. I Don't know what you're looking for, but I have my eye on one that's supposed to have a center island kitchen w/ a kitchen slide.. only available in a 5th wheel though I believe.

Yes the Diamond Package is available in the Signature Ultra Lite TTs and 5th wheels. Same time frame as std 6-8 weeks. I had my local dealer call the factory and LEDs are not available for Rockwood. The LEDs are really bright but they have not found lamps with the beam correct spread. I have done a lot of research on LEDs (mainly 120v), they aren't far away! Hopefully FRF members keep us posted as they find lamps that work well.

I have the new brochure for the diamond package, the model with the center island is the 8289ws. The Windjammer models dont have the diamond package. I'm looking at the 8280ws with the diamond package. Did not see anything about LED liting in the brochure.

I sure do like the idea of Corian countertops. Guess we should have waited a year to buy ours, but I can probably say that every year. Not that I would have liked paying $2,500 extra, though. Oh well, still very happy with our unit!

Do the solid surface countertops come in different colors? I only see white in the brochure.

Countertops are not that big, probably cheaper to have yours replaced if it really made you happy.
