New Member here 2016 Rockwood Mini Lite 2306

We bought our 1st Travel Trailer; a brand new 2016 Rockwood Mini Lite 2306 and to pull it a nice 2016 Chevrolet Colorado V6 with Z82 tow packet and G80 Locker Differential. Seems to pull it just fine from the dealer to home. The original plan was to tow it with a 09 Pontiac G8 GT (still have) with a 4,620 Lbs towing capacity....

Anyway... Is our 1st travel trailer and perhaps we have tons of noobie questions. Not my 1st time on forums (moderated too).

Nice meeting all and perhaps we might meet on some distance campground.

The trailer has the Sapphire Packet with the Water Tank Heaters, heating mattress, thermal windows. Opted for the Bunk Beds since grandchildren might travel from time to time.

So... Hello to y'all !

Congrats on the new truck and trailer. We have the sister to your Rockwood, Flagstaff Micro Lite 23lb. This year will be our 4th season with it. Enjoy

Welcome. We took delivery of our 2015 2306 last March. Took it out a total of 10 times last year for 29 nights. We have been VERY pleased with everything so far. The quality of the Rockwood, the layout, everything.

My only hiccup was thinking that my existing Toyota Tacoma would be up to the task of towing here in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains.

I would highly suggest a digital thermometer (the temp swings required to activate the factory unit are crazy). I also installed new locks in all the outside storage compartments, matching the entry door, so I only have one key now. That also keeps you from having to orient the key right way before it'll go into the lock (because the replacement is double-sided).

X-chocks are very handy. Carpet over the entry steps (Amazon).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I see someone looked at the Network IP Address already. Hey, in another life, I was a system administrator. Well... let me say that we live in the center of the USA, tons of elbow room

Where did you got the thermostat and the most important one... the Locks. One thing that blew my mind is the Master Keys and that common CH751 locks. To be honest, thinking that someone has a copy and also the door locks is very creepy.

Since you changed the locks and my TT is garaged and not easy to get to it right away. What are the sizes of the store compartments locks and who makes locks that are not "generic"; including the door.
