New Rockwood

We picked up our 2015 8265ws fifth wheel just before Christmas. Today we had to cover it until spring can't wait until April, so sad.Click image for larger version

We don't have that problem in Florida. We can camp all year long. hopefully the next four months will go by quickly for you!

I would probably still go if the campgrounds were open.

Nice looking unit and good harmony color with truck also. I have the same cover for my 8280. Your RV will still sparkle when you take the cover off in the spring. I am envious as my cover still needs to be put on and the rv will have to remain unwashed as temps will be single digit all week.

Since you can't camp use the winter to brainstorm any mods for your RV that may be in the future.

I would encourage you to get the 2nd year warranty from Rockwood. I have used mine.

CONGRATS on your new Rig (Looks GREAT!) and welcome to the Forums from Huntsville, AL!

I see you covered it....mmmm there is a "lively" debate on the forums about RV Covers. You may want to read up on them and depending on where you live, take appropriate precautions (Pro tip from the South: RV covers make excellent winter nest areas for squirrels and other creatures ergo we never cover our rig...after all, it's made to survive the elements )

X2 what Ron said - check out the MANY Mod threads in the forums - you can really go crazy (Another Pro tip, get screen covers for ALL your outlets - refer, hot water heater, propane vents, stove, et al) covered or not, critters DO love to nest in those areas of your RV!

I'm waiting till spring (after the Novi, Michigan Show at least) to order a new 8310SS. Couldn't stand having a new trailer and can't camp in it for months. No no no....

Happy trails,

I have always covered my trailers and haven't had any problems. We put some Mouse Magic peppermint packs inside all the compartments and closets and throw mothballs outside under the trailer. I used to use tarps but these covers are so much easier.

We thought we would have had it earlier in the fall to go for a few weekends. Have already installed a safe box for valuables. Plan on putting a slide out tray in the outside compartment and make a slide out type of kitchen, stove and small fridge. I will be ordering some dimmers for a few of the LED lights.

Happy trails,
You're going to love that new trailer.
I had mine last spring...plenty of storage...counter space...and no, we did not break anything in the cabinets due to it being a rear kitchen !
Mine is currently sleeping in the storage shed 'til May.

We've loved ours for 3 seasons now. It's huddled up in the cold back yard at the moment. The best mod I've made was to go 100% LED's.

Congrats and have fun.

Bought our rockwood right before Christmas and used it for the New Years break.
We try to go at least 2 times a mo . It always camping weather here in South Louisiana. We have a cover over ours from Carilina Carports. Our trailer is 34.9 ft long . We love it.
Congrats on your new one also. Enjoy. This is our 2nd rockwood and love them both.
