New Rockwood owner! 2608BS

Hello all, just brought home a 2019 2608BS. Anyone else have this model?

We have the 2608BSD. Love the bed slide and full wall wardrobe. Like having the option to upgrade to 2nd AC if needed. Pulled it for about 3k now and no issues.

2608BSD

We too just (ordered) this model after looking around for quite some time at other brands and floor plans. Upgrade from our KZ Sportsman Classic 190.

We have some friends who tow a Rockwood 8329SS with an F-150, 3.5L EcoBoost and that trailer is 1000lbs heavier than the 2608BS(D). They’ve towed it across the country many times and live in Colorado.

We too have an 2019 F-150 w/3.5L EcoBoost, Max Tow Package, 3.55 ratio, 36 gallon tank and will be using a Husky Center Line WD with this unit. The payload sticker on the truck is 1600lbs, so we should have anywhere from 440-220lbs of payload to spare depending on whether we have it at GVWR. 90% of the time we expect the trailer to be around 7600lbs since we don’t often carry much fresh water where we’re camping.

We have a 06 Durango 5.7 Hemi, 4.10, Equalizer Hitch.
Have pulled from Indiana to Texas and now from Texas to Florida and back, twice. No Issues.

We are considering going to this model from our current 5th wheel, mainly for the lower height. Looks like a great trailer and has a lot of similarities to our Wildcat. What is the difference between the BS and BSD model? All I saw on the FR website is the BS model

Mine is labeled "BS". I've looked at videos and lots of pictures and can see no difference. I've wondered myself why they seem to have two model #'s.

Edit: I think I've figured it out.

Does the "D" stand for dinette? It seems the BSD models have the dinette and the BS models have the freestanding table and chairs.

You may be right, although our Wildcat has a dinette and no difference in model number. One thing I have noticed with this model, is some have a full bedroom slide, others have the closet slide. At first I thought that was the difference, but I have seen both called BS and BSD.

When we bought ours the dealer said the BS meant bedroom slide and the BSD meant bedroom slide with dinette.
We have the BSD

That makes sense.

The 2018 had the wardrobe slide. The 2019's have the bedroom slide.

A huge improvement IMO.

This is what is confusing to me. Forest River calls the standard booth style a dinette, whereas the "table and chairs" are optional. Which do you have? I have also seen BS models with the booth type and freestanding table and chairs and BSD models with a booth. Like I said earlier, there is no mention of a BDS version on FR's website, which I thought was odd if it is an actual model.

Here is a "BS" model with table and chairs...

https://www.campersunlimited.net/New...labama-6029745

And here is a "BS" model with booth dinette...

https://www.rvt.com/Forest-River-Roc...447479-UX24777

Not a big deal either way, I was just curious with the BSD models as I see very few of them on the net.

It seems to be a question. It may be that the dealer is too lazy to put the D on them. My FR build sheet has the D on it 2608BSD. We have the table and Chairs.

Thanks, that is interesting. One thing about our FR Wildcat Maxx with table and chairs, is that option also comes with 3 long vertical windows instead of the two regular windows that the standard dinette comes with. They call it a garden room. I can take or leave the long windows. Like I mentioned earlier, no D in the model number of ours.

Below is a link to one they claim is BSD that has a booth, not table and chairs. I imagine it could be a typo. In fact it is one I am considering since there not many in our area. Although I would prefer table and chairs like we have now...

I tried searching current listings and found another puzzle piece the dealers seem to list BSD then when at the site show it as the BS. Some search as BS unit but show BSD on website. They also show MSRP as somewhere north of $40k. This is a lot higher than my MSRP shows and from what I can piece together the options are the same all the way.

Yes you can.

Mine only has one AC, but it has 50 amp service and is pre-wired for a second AC unit.

Had I ordered mine instead of buying off of the lot, I would have had the second AC installed. I'll decide after some summer camping if I'll add a second unit to mine. Most likely will.

I have seen some listed with the 2nd AC installed. So, my guess is yes. Mine came pre-wired for 2nd unit
