New to us 2503S!

We bought a trailer today, and it wasn't the one we thought it would be!

We found a 2017 Rockwood Mini Lite 2503S at the dealer we were going to to look at a 2109S. The funny thing is, two years ago, this was one of the first trailers we looked at. I was afraid of slides at the time and worried we wouldn't like the Murphy bed. We got over that. I'd never forgotten how much we liked it though.

So, found this one online and they'd lowered the price by $1,000 yesterday and they came down another $500. We checked RV Trader and it was the lowest price for a 2017 anywhere. We got a great rate and a fairly short loan. Better than expected really. Turns out our credit scores recently jumped!

It looks pristine. There's literally one place that looks used; the soap dish. LOL The dealer has a really good reputation. The story was it was traded for something larger because the owner was full - timing. He took great care of it.

We pick it up next week, coincidently on my husband's birthday! That poor tech has been warned that we'll be spending hours making him show every detail.

So... looks like we're Rockwood owners!

Congrats. We're very happy with ours. DW loves the huge bathroom.

Even though we have had some issues (poor build quality), we love the layout of our 2503S.

Congratulations on your Rockwood Mini Lite!

I like your big bathroom and kitchen counter top space. We have the 2104s since July of ‘17 and have not had any issues. We have the same glass shower doors as yours, make sure latch is secure when in transit. I eventually removed them for curtains to give a little more elbow room. We also replaced our uncomfortable dinette with recliners but the dinette works for others too. Murphy bed is a great idea and the side closets are the same as yours. Careful on the corners of the closets nearest to where your head will be. I whacked mine getting up one morning. Added child baby bumpers that someone suggested on the forum. If yours doesn’t have a slide topper I would recommend one.
Enjoy!!

We got a 2506S new (2017)..and first thing I did was get rid of the lazy susan under the kitchen sink.. Not sure whether you have one or not.. I built some built-in drawers to replace the lazy susan.. works great..

You have an L-shaped kitchen; the 2503S does not, so no lazy susan.

This is the floor plan of the 2503. Two entries, BIG bathroom, murphy bed and kitchen slide. There is a slide topper and a number of other options. The first owner left it in good shape for us!

we have the Micro Lite 25KS, which is a twin of your 2503S, love it and was disappointed when FR stopped making that floor plan, ... to us it's the ideal trailer for a couple, ... two doors, large bathroom, Murphy bed, and for the owner who enjoys modding, a treasure trove of options, ... a combination that we truly enjoy, even though the modding opportunities have just about been exhausted, ... hope you folks enjoy yours as much as we do ours and have many years and miles of happy trailering, ...

The first must-do mod is change out the crappy Coleman-Mach analog thermostat for a digital one.

You can get a plug-and-play version for about $55-60. See here for one. Shop around for other prices. They come in black and white:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M8LFHT3

If you're handy and want to save a few bucks you can replace it with a Honeywell RTH111B from Home Depot. See post #2 here:

Digital thermostat

LOL! Yeah, I noticed that before we made the decision.

You might want to keep an eye on your kitchen drain connection, or preemptively change it out. See here:

Mini Lite 2503S kitchen drain broke

It's the only real "failure" I've had.

Also X2 on removing the inside FR1/KW1 filter and going with an outside one. (Before it fails.)

Also X2 on the Oxygenics shower head.

I also added a 110VAC outlet under the armrest on the street side, similar to the one that came on the curb side. I tied into the one at the head of the bed.

I also extended the FW drain out where I could open it without crawling underneath. You need a 1/2" NPT to PEX elbow, a length of PEX, a PEX to 1/2" fitting and a 1/2" valve. The wood support you see was supposed to be temporary, but I've never gotten around to replacing it. 3 years on, it's still going strong.

Love the storage drawer under the sink! I have to admit, I'm not sure what 5 and 7 are.

Sorry! I was on a tablet and it never makes links look like links!

Very nice work! I don't think we're handy enough for most of them though!

Congrats! My GF and I just bought our fist camper. A 2504S. We looked at a couple like you have and it is awesome. But we wanted the bunk beds for when anyone joins us camping. We also love the Murphy bed, the u-shaped table, and large counter space in kitchen area.
We drove from Iowa to Myrtle Beach, SC to purchase it!!! Never pulled a camper before, so pulling it home was an experience! Actually, all good!
