Newest mod.
This is the newest mod I have done to our 2109s. I fabricated a receiver hitch, that bolts to the upright portion of the frame. I also attached it to the bumper with bracket and bolts. The carrier was still not solid, so I put 2 bumper receiver hitches and welded 2 in square tubing to the carrier. It now is rock solid. Notice the bike carrier attached to the far side.

Nice work!
So... things to be aware of:
Bumper to frame attachment-- want to make sure the welds hold (your outboard supports are in good spots, right near the bumper mounts).
Careful how much weight you put on the carrier-- that far behind the TT's axles, things bounce a lot back there.
With your quality work, the weak link will be where the bumper tube mounts to the two mounts... or where those two mounts mount to the frame.

Without reinforcement, that setup will be bouncing down the road!
Since the trailer has no shocks, the load will be bending those cheap bumper welds up and down.

Martinfarms, can you take pictures of the underside showing how you attached the brackets? I'm going to do something similar to our 2504. I want mine to fold up when not being used, so I bought a pivot type hitch haul from Harbor freight. Right now it's still in the box but I hope to get to ti soon. Thanks Jay

I'd suggest a set of these on each frame end:
4SQUAREâ„¢ SafetyStrutsâ„¢ Prevent RV Bumper Failure

X2
These are cheap insurance and have worked good for me for 3 years.

Jay2504, I think most here missed the part about the receiver hitch. I wish I had taken pictures while I was building it. You can buy them on etrailer but wanted mine to be made to fit exactly. I like the idea of the 4square, but don't like that they fit up to 4 1/2 in bumpers. I may make a set to fit my trailer. I will try get a picture of under side today.

Jay here is about the best I could do as far as a picture. It shows where the adjustable receiver hitch bolts to the frame. The ones on end of the carrier are more for stabilization. But I am prone to over build, so I think a set of the 4square mods are in the future. FYI this will only be used to haul 2 bikes ore a poop wagon or a aluminum fishing cart. So not a lot of weight, but I feel it could carry a lot more.

I like what you have done and how you did it. I also tend to over engineer my solutions...
Can you share more details on the adjustable receiver hitch bolts to the frame?
I have seen a Curt 13703 adjustable hitch that bolts to the frame as well and was thinking of getting it and modifying it some to mount up something like what you did.
