OMG! How did that happen???

On Tuesday we stopped by our local RV dealer, Delorme's RV near North Bay, Ontario, great folks) who carries Rockwood. We were interested in the Mini-Lite 2104 and 2304 both with Murphy bed and wanted to get some idea of price. Neither of those were on the lot, but there was a 2304s Ultra-Lite. Such a lovely trailer, but too heavy to pull with our old, base model F-150, only up to 5500 pounds.

Drove into town, decided to stop by the Ford dealer "just to look". Well, you know where this is heading. We entered the twilight zone of the dealership and found a truck we liked that would pull something heavier. Went back the next day after doing some Internet research on price and managed to get a good deal on an F-150 with all the towing bells and whistles that would pull up to 7800. We pick it up Monday...

Back to the Rockwood dealer this a.m. (Saturday) after more internet research and figuring out that even with the extra towing capacity, there was nothing under 25 ft that we liked as much as the 2304s Ultra-Lite, we bought it.... We pick it up Thursday.

Now, in the space of 5 days we have traded in our truck, our 13' Trillium trailer and spent a whole wack of cash, none of which we had any plans to do on Monday. We actually did sit down with our financial planner at the bank yesterday, after informing her to write a cheque for the truck and possible a trailer, so were not totally feckless. I think it works out we should go toes up around age 90 instead of 92 to make the money last, LOL. But we are 63 and 64, and still healthy, so as the saying goes, "If not now, when?"

We go on a previously planned weekend camp next weekend, with the new trailer, instead of the old. Lots to learn, as the old trailer did not have much on it. Just a fridge and 2 burner stove. I am beyond excited (and so is hubby)!

That's just about what we tell our two boys, "We're p--sing away your inheritance" and then we all laugh. They both tell us, "You earned it so spend it, we'll make out just fine when we sell what's left"
