One thing after another - Final (for this season)
If you read parts 1 and 2 you'll see where this is going.
I brought our Windjammer home from getting the new tongue jack installed. Two days later we started winterizing it for storage. It was a dark and stormy night. (Thanks DDC for the homage.) Actually it was a cold, wet, rainy day.
I'm getting ready to blow out the lines, Shirley is gathering stuff to take in for the winter.
I did mention the weather, right?
When it's cold, what does one do? Turn on the heat, right? Yeah, no.
I turned on the heat, it went thru its cycle trying to start 3 times, like it should aaaaand stopped. Did this, I don't know, lots of times.
Air in the line seems logical, right? That's what I thought. So I bled the air at the stove. Tried the furnace again.....same results.
Ok, maybe there's more air than I thought. At this point I wanted to believe it was air in the line, but in my heart, I knew it was more. Did I give up? Noooo! I'm Irish AND a Yooper. We don't give into our beliefs easily.
I lit the gas side of the water tank. WOW, what a flame! BTW, I forgot to turn off the elec before I drained the tank. That would explain why the water was warm when I drained it. That's a problem for next year. Crap.
So now I'm taking off the covers for the furnace. I find the itty bitty sight glass and get ready to watch what happens. I turn on the furnace, again, and of course the first thing that happens is the fan turns on. Blowing cold air. Right in my face. Remember I said it was already cold and rainy?
I watch the burner ignite aaaaand go out. Watch the burner ignite aaaaand go out. Watch the burner ignite aaaand go out.
Now I call Don, the tech (We're on first name basis at this point) and explain the problem. After discussing possible causes, we decide to wait til spring since I'm putting her in storage for the winter.
Am I happy? No. But, we're done for the season and I couldn't care less about watching ships at this point.
Fast forward a couple of days. I take the TT to the storage facility and the guys guide me inside. They tell me to unhook and they'll move it into place using a tractor. Not a problem. Until I'm all unhooked and realize in a moment pure genius I took the battery out. They can't raise or lower the jack once I unhook from the truck. They tell me 'No problem. We'll just get a battery from the shop ( a couple of miles away) and install it til the get the unit moved in place. I feel bad, real bad for the problems they're going thru for me. A couple of days later I remember the emergency crank for the jack that coulda been used. I didn't think of it at the time. Crap again.
So, next spring, very first thing, I get to get the TT out of storage and take it immediately to the dealer to fix the furnace.
And I haven't a clue how many times I get to cross the bridge for that.

I don't do hidden meanings. Hidden meanings are dishonest, in my opinion. I'm honest to a fault. If I say "bless your heart", I'm literally praying God's blessings on you and your situation.

Thanks for praying!
The meaning behind the 'Secret meaning' is simply this. I once heard a comedian, maybe Tim Hawkins? I don't remember. Anyway he did a whole skit on the phrase 'Bless your heart'. Bottom line, according to him it was another way of saying 'You're so stupid'. So you can see how after reading my post, you could think "He's so stupid". It helps if you use a southern accent when you say it.

had some of your same problems with my windjammer, just arrived home from a nice trip and while washing the unit, yup, discovered a nice crack above the rear door. Forest River has been great. The unit will go back to the factory for "the fix". Also will have lack of tire clearance issue addressed.
