Oops!

At the end of our last camping trip, I brought the slide in and I heard this terrible crunch and something falling, which I thought was something on the roof and OMG, is our slide ruined, etc.? DH brought the slide back in and ran it out and it appeared fine.

Here's the culprit - which we just discovered a few days ago -
Battery was dying in our smoke detector so we removed the battery to replace. Didn't get around to it while we were camping, so my DH left the cover hanging down. Yup, you got it- the slide ripped the cover off the smoke detector and sent the cover flying to the floor. I can't believe that little thing made SO much noise.

So I'll add that to my checklist....make sure cover for smoke detector is secured fully.
