Our new 2306
Brought this 2018 Rockwood 2306 home today, pretty excited. This forum has been great during the decision making process, so thanks everybody! The 2012 Frontier handled it just fine, but I definitely wouldn't want to go any bigger without upgrading the TV. I've probably looked at hundreds of models over the past year trying to find exactly what I wanted, so as soon as I found this model it was over, checked every box off our wishlist and then some.
Hope to post any fun mods I might do to this thread, we plan on using it a few times mostly as-is before I start going crazy with upgrades, but we'll see if I can resist the temptation.
On the short list of things to upgrade sooner than later:
Shelving solution for pantry
Mattress topper
Shower head
Generator (a lot of local beach spots with no utilities)
Good times! Thanks for all the ideas on this forum, happy camping everyone.

Congrats on you new Rockwood 2306!
The outside looks pretty sharp so I'm sure the inside is pretty looking too. The shower head mod should be pretty easy if you are just swapping it out.

Just wait for your wheels to corrode in less than 1 year like mine did.

Congratulations! We've had our 2306 for 2 years and absolutely love it. I'm sure you will too.
(And our wheels still look brand new)

We love our 2306 too. Post up any mods.
I replaced the useless bathroom faucet and put in an adjustable height shower head bar. Both very worthwhile.

Mind if I ask which faucet you chose to replace it with, and if you recommend it? I haven't used it yet, but based on things I've read on this page, it's likely something I'll want to do.
Today I had the pleasure of hunting down the water filter canister as the dealer didn't install the filter. The inspector told me it was behind the little dummy wall under the pantry closet, but after crawling around and unscrewing that... nope. Finally found it tucked away under the bunks, right by the city water inlet (duh).

Here's a picture. And if you search for "I hate this faucet", you'll find a thread about it.

Mine is from Walmart. I linked to it in this post. If I had a basin wrench, it'd have been a 5 minute swap. Since I was using channel locks, it probably took 20 minutes.

There's a couple other mods there that might be of interest. I liked the fridge mod. I need to reconnect it and watch my battery monitor to see what it actually draws. Anyway, there's some misc. stuff there.

Great stuff guys, thanks for the links! After installing the water filter and wresting with the flimsy wall separating the under-bunk storage area from the water heater area, that hinge idea is great. Adding that to the ever growing to-do list.

My dealer didn't install the filter either.
I bet if you saw my first pic on my thread, you'd have found the filter much faster. Lots of "under the hood" pics.

I bypassed my water filter on my 23LB after reading horror stories of them leaking. I completely did away with the flimsy "wall" and put up a couple tension bars.
I mentioned in another thread, my only complaint on our 23LB is the windows. I really wish they opened up more. Although we're not camping, yesterday and today was in the mid 70's with a nice breeze. When camping in weather like that I like the windows open. These only crank open a few inches at the bottom. Other than that though, we love it.

You can make your windows open farther. On the bottom track there are plastic inserts that can be removed and it allows them to open a lot more. Take about 2 minutes per window and you only need to remove one screw and slide window over and remove plastic inserts.

. This dead space under the fridge-side dinette drives me nuts, they could have easily made that drawer a foot longer. It's a 21in x 12in wide and 14in high, I'll find a crate or plastic box to fit down there and use it to store a few non-everyday items.
The silly flimsy wall under the bathroom sink will be gone this weekend, it doesn't seem to fulfill any useful purpose other than hiding a few plumbing hoses, I'll take that few cubic inches of extra storage. Love the idea of tension rods to replace the under-bunk wall, so as soon as I find some decent tension rods I'll probably do that as well.
I also found this rolling around in the fridge, hoping someone recognizes it? It's a light bulb or a heat element of some sort, but I can't for the life of me find a place that it might have popped out of. Thanks!

By the way, I am assuming that the dinette dead space is a precaution to keep things a certain distance from that heater air hose, probably not the best place to store old newspaper and spare propane bottles....

That looks exactly like the interior light bulb for my wife's car. Not sure what it would have came out of in there??
