Our RockWood 2504s
Greetings! We recently purchased a 2017 RockWood 2504s. Are there any others out there with this model?
We love it! I do have a few questions that may be specific to this model.
Thank you.

Can’t answer any questions you might have but can say Welcome from almost always sunny Arizona (we’re in our monsoon season now...)

Hello. It is great that you have the same kind of travel trailer as ours. Do you love it? We love ours. However, we just bought it 1 month ago. haha
Just so I do not have to retype or copy/paste my main question, Please look at my thread titled "Interior lights. One switch for all?"
Please let me know if your lights work the same as ours or if different.
Thanks. Let me know if you cannot find my thread.

The switch on the panel only controls the one light under the cabinet. That light doesn’t have a center push button.

2018 2504S. It's very similar to the 2509S and FR eventually consolidated ... keeping the 09 and jettisoning the 04. I feel lucky to have grabbed one while I could -- I have no use for an outdoor kitchen and definitely like the linen closet.

I know right? This is our first camper and did a lot of research and it has everything we want. The bunk beds, murphy bed, small enough to pull all over the country, which is our plan.
Question for you. I was a little surprised and disappointed how much gas it takes to pull. I have a Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ. I get 20 MPG. when pulling the trailer, I get 9. I had read that you should count on 15 to 25 % more fuel consumption. This is 100% more fuel consumption.
I thought about adding more air to the tires. they are rated at 50pd for a load. Maybe 60pd ?? When we are fully loaded, the tires look like they could use more air. What do you think? Any ideas?

David J I have the same trailer as you do. I tow with a 2014 V6 Silverado. My mileage ranges from about 8.5 in bad wind,(think I40 in Texas) to as high as 13. For me at least, the slower the better. What engine, gears, transmission, and tires do you have? Is it 4wd? How fast have you towed so far? Jay

this is our first camper as well and we bought it for the same reasons. the smaller size gets you access to more campsites!
as far as MPG. i have a diesel and get about 11mpg. 8-10mpg is about as good as it gets pulling any camper. the height creates alot of wind resistance and drag that increases fuel consumption dramatically. i keep my tires filled to max PSI stated on the trailer tires for the correct load rating.

Not sure where you "heard" that 15 to 25% consumption, when pulling a TT. Those numbers would be for pulling a popup or A-frame trailer, not a full height travel trailer.
Remember that you're pulling a barn door through the air. It's the air resistance that affects mph, more than trailer weight.
Standard gasser towing mpg range is 8-11.
Diesel slightly higher by 2 or 3mpg.
