Picking up my Rockwood 2306 from RVW soon -- couple questions

My 2306 offline date is 27 Feb and I plan to pick it up from RVWholesalers on 5 March. I've been preparing a personal PDI checklist as well as a set of questions to ask when I get there, but it dawned on me that you good folk can probably answer most of them! So, if you're bored and don't mind helping a newbie, here they are:
  1. Does the trailer come standard with wheel chocks?
  2. Does it come standard with sewer or city water hoses?
  3. Does it come standard with an electrical cable?
  4. Can I plug into 50 amp shore power? Do I need an adaptor? Is the adapter included?
  5. Does the trailer come with a water pressure regulator?
  6. Does the fridge automatically kick over from propane to electrical once you plug into shore power?
  7. Are there filters for the furnace and AC? If so where, and how often do you have to change / clean them?
  8. Does the black tank have any sort of built-in flushing system?

1. No.
2. No.
3. if you mean the shore cord, Yes.
4. Yes, but you'll need the adapter and no, they don't come with one. most places that have 50amp will also have 30amp and 20amp outlets.
5. No.
6. Yes, if you have it set on "Auto".
7. Not for the furnace but the a/c does. mine is behind the ceiling grill.
8. Only if you ordered that as an factory option or ordered one to be installed by RVW.

don't buy the RV starter kit from RVW, unless they throw it in.
buy the chocks, hoses and adapters at Walmart. it'll be much cheaper.
we stopped at the first Walmart we saw and bought most of the basic stuff we needed.

PG Rider,
good luck with the new unit. I attached a PDI checklist that I found on the forums when I was preparing for my new trailer. It may help you as it did me. Sorry I cannot remember the original author.
  1. I had some. Also I have bought the leveling blocks (3 sets).
  2. Dealer supplied these. Added an additional Rhino Flex and clear adapter.
  3. Yes
  4. Can I plug into 50 amp shore power? TT is 30 amp but you can with an adapter. Is the adapter included? No, I purchased one from my dealer.
  5. Dealer provided one free.
  6. If it is set to Auto. Or you can set to AC or to Gas.
  7. Not sure on mine. Time for me to find out.
  8. My Windjammer came with tank flush connections. I have 2 black tanks.

the OP is buying from RVW and i've never seen any post of RVW including a starter kit for free.
nor RVDirect. for their low prices, i think it's not a freebie.

for dealers that charge a lot more, the starter kit is thrown in, since they're already making a huge profit.

PG, I ordered a 2306 about the same time you did. Do you know if your unit will be a 2013 year model or not?

bikerdan - RVDirect included the starter kit freebie, along with one 12V Intersate battery & two full tanks of propane in the 1809S Rockwood that we have.

well, that's a new one. have never seen any mention of RVDirect including a starter kit before. must be something newly added.

good to know! RVW stills has it listed as an extra cost.

I ordered an 8281WS from RVDirect and The salesman told me that it would come with a "free" RV Starter Kit. Unit will be delivered to Des Moines this coming week and we'll hopefully have it shortly thereafter!

Thanks everyone. As someone said, RVW sells the starter kit as an option and I didn't choose it, so I'm assuming they won't just throw it in. Went to WalMart last night and picked up a Rhino sewer kit, Lynx levelers, and wheel chocks so I'm good there. Guess I'll wait and see on the fresh water hose and other accessories.

Rhino sewer hose is good!

For the people that have purchased a new (or used) RV during the winter months, make sure when you get it to your destination that you wash all the salt from underneath the RV. Use a pressure washer if necessary or strong hose stream. Use a chemical called "KLEAN STRIP" phosphoric prep & etch, can be applied with a brush or pump up bug sprayer. Follow directions carefully, can be purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot in the paint department. After using the chemical as per directions, paint with a good coat of Spray "RustOleum" . You can fill in the open end box portion of the frame that supports the axles with the foam insulation in a can. After is dries and swells up, simply cut of the excess with a hack saw blade.

KLEAN STRIP is also known as OSPHO!

For the one that have two dump connections and dump valves you cannot reach, here are some pictures of a suggestion.

Good question, and I have no idea! My purchase agreement references 2012, and my sales guy has made no mention of it being a 2013. So, unless the factory switches over to the new model year and makes my 2306 a 2013, I'm guessing it'll be a 2012...
