Pin weight

Is the advertised hitch weight of 1524 lbs based on the dry weight or the GVWR of the 8289WS.

On their spec sheet it calls that a "dry hitch weight". 1828 would be a more realistic loaded pin weight.

In fact, you can use the percentage of the dry weight to dry pin weight to use in estimating actual loaded pin weight. The wet pin weight is usually about the same percentage as the dry or another 1 - 1.5% higher. But it helps in planning.

Out of curiosity- what was the camper's total weight? Just curious about the pin weight percentage.

Thanks. So my earlier comment stands- dry pin weight % was 19.5%. And your loaded pin weight % was 19.9%.

My real pin weight is 1675 lbs. if that helps but remember it is also after you you are loaded for camping. I did it at a cat scale on a trip just for the hell of it so I would know if I was over loaded but that whats my pin weight came out to be. I think I was under the 1600 or so they said I could carry on the sticker on the side and on the screen door.....
