When you purchased your trailer, it should have come with a crank that can manually move the slide. Our trailer came with a single crank that can operate both front jacks and the two larger slides. The third small slide also was supplied with a tool that attaches to a cordless drill and allows for manual slide operation. If you don't have that crank tool, you should be able to find it at a dealer. Here is a video that shows the crank in operation. This is the crank I have for our TT.

Please help locate manual crank for slide on 2004 rock wood 8285ss

I have a 2004 Rockwood 8285SS. The slide is on the left side of the 5W. The motor and manual hookup are under the rear of the slide. I took a deep-well socket and slotted for a roll-pin in the manual shaft. I would have to turn it by hand with a ratchet wrench; time consuming.

Having had to retract our slide when the power went out, I know from experience that it is not that big of a deal to manually retract a slide.

Now the closet electric-gear operated slide in the bedroom is a WHOLE different story!! Gimmie my cordless drill for that bugger!
