in the accessory slot of my awning and rolled it back in with my new cool remote. The loud bang as it hit the side of the camper wiped the grin right off my face.
Thinking the worse I examined the awning and the entire assembly was racked towards the motor end on the awning roller. The collapsible arms were twisted so much they could not close and the motor trying to close them caused the noise.
I realized that when I put the tags on the roller I put them all on the slot, one right after each other and rolled it up. They were all bunched up on one side so when the awning rolled up, even though the material was pop rivited to the roller, it started to track off as the awning retracted.
I unrolled it; spread the tags out evenly along the roller, and retracted again. The awining rolled up perfectly and the arms closed like they were supposed to with no noise. Lesson Learned.
