protecting the electronics in my new 8299BS

I just bought a 2016 8299BS 5er and am thinking about hard wiring a progressive industries HW50C or something similar to protect the on board electronics. i was wondering if any one has done it ,if so any comments. i need to figure out where to install it in the shore power cable between the PDP and the inlet plug. i understand that i will need a bypass switch also. any help would be a help lol.
