I believe that a tune for the ecoboost would be the best mod over an intake, ect. If they offer a selection of tunes like what we get for our turbo diesels, then it should help out.

I will wait till warranty is up then see what can be done. I would spend a few bucks for more MPG.

My dads 1971 350 Suburban screamed, no emmission crap, no pump just a egr delete. That truck could lay a patch with positrack and Uniroyal Triple Tread tires.

All the bolt-on stuff (Intercoolers, exhaust, etc) are covered under all Ford & extended warranties. Tuners are *not* and will void your Warranty
Believe the Exhaust & Intercooler mods will net 6-15HP and 2-4MPG -- can't remember exactly and it has been a few months since I researched this

Livernois Motorsports Tuned (93 Octane) EcoBoost …: http://youtu.be/GKMJqjkmXng
70hp increase at the rear wheels for a reasonable amount of cash. Livernois Motorsports does amazing transformations at a reasonable price. I've seen many examples in my neighborhood. Ford would have to draw a direct relationship to the mods to void void the warranty. Most like the tuner can be removed before the service if you kept the oem stuff.

A word to the wise... K&N filters let in dirt. Fact.
Stick your hand or rag in your intake duct after running one 10k and check out the talc in the hose. I had two and chunked once I learned.

I average 14-15 pulling 4k, my rear end gearing is 3:53 in my HD payload/tow package. I didn't want 3:73 gears. Been that route before. EB owners need to keep your foot out of spooling up those turbos. I know it's hard not to show off the torque! LOL.

I'm kinda surprised folks are pulling 9,000+ trailers with the Eco boost 3.0.

I'll be curious to see how they survive the test of time after 100k or 10 yrs. Still an impressive motor

For what it is worth, 2010 GMC Sierra, 4.8 engine 3:23 axle, towing 2013 Rockwood Minilite 2109S, UVW 3700 lbs. averaged 15 mpg running from Southern Ontario to Lancaster Pennsylvannia and return at mostly 55 mph. This included lots of hills on intestate 81.

Why? With the appropriate build you can easily top 2300lb in payload.

When towing mine varies but on average from 18litres/100km to 25/100km depending on driving conditions. Two years ago we traveled to smokies in Tennessee for two weeks and return. I have the F150 fx4 eco-boost, Rick had a new dodge ram lariat 1500, and Charlie had a Chevy 1500 6 litre (we all get along too ). I don't know the axel ratings etc. on each.. I will say at each fill-up all were pretty much the same within a few buck each time, but no one of use was always lower. I think the difference is when not towing as long as you lay off the turbo.

I average 17-18 mph with my 2012 ecoboost. I love it. But I am only towing a pop up less than 4k. But my truck is fully loaded with kids and crap. Love how quiet it is and how powerful and quick it is.

Towing on flat land, no wind I get 12 with my 2013 fx4. Headwind, into the hills at 60mph, 7 mpg. Pulling a windjammer with 3.55 rear end.
