And according to my toothpaste label, it whitens your teeth too. Seriously, last two RVs I drank our water, as long as it came from our home town faucets or was filled using a relatively new in line filter. This new one even after sanitizing really well and flushing three times still had a bit of a new plastic taste. Flushing again this week for coming trip and figure it will probably be drinkable now. Only second trip with the new TH.

You know, I'm not aware of any campgrounds were the campground owner had his own private water supply. He's drinking what you're drinking.
So I'd say, take a good look at the owner. If he doesn't have any strange tics, or 11 fingers, or a third eye, you're probably OK to drink the water!

100 years ago, (when I was 10), we would add a capfull of bleach to a couple of gals of our drinking water, which we took right out of the lake. (Learned that from Boy Scouts) Left overnight in a open container in the fridge, all the clorine (bleach) that your city's water dept. puts in your tap water will evaporate. I give our tank (31 US gals) a complete fill with a 1/2 cup of bleach every spring and pump through the system after a couple days. Then fill with fresh and flush again. Then I'm good to go. Anything residual just adds to the protection.

What hose.
I did not read every post in this thread so I am not sure if anyone suggested using a white or blue water hose to fill. Using a garden hose will leave a plastic taste and should not be used if you plan on drinking the fw from the tank.

Question about Fresh Water Tank....
I bought a couple of the coily hoses from plumbing supply.
Pretty sweet.
I don't drink from the fresh tank.
Not that it's not clean.... I just like jugs of spring water from the fridge. ( colder)

If you are worried about the water in your unit,,,
why not buy a couple of jugs of water @ the store ???
We take about 4 old juice bottles of filtered water with us,,, and I usually drink the water from the ice that has melted in the coolers,,, but we also clean our coolers every time we use then with soft scrub !!! Been doing that for years !!!

Thanks to all who have responded. I drink my municipal water @ home and also drank from a garden hose growing up. So far, we have not seen any park managers with three eyes or a hand growing out of their forehead. 😂😂😂
So, we filled our tank at home before we left and have been using that on our trip. We've also been drinking the water at our campgrounds and yes, we do have a filter. We're enjoying our journey and making lots of memories! My dh even said he's thinking about us moving north for the summers since we've gotten to experience some cooler summertime temps!

Well, stay away from northern Illinois. Supposed to be 96 F and high humidity on Thur/Friday.

We stay away from drinking our fresh tank water. We do use it for showers, brushing teeth, boiling noodles and junk but i just don't go over and have a glass full of tank water. I take a case of water and drink that if i'm thirsty. I would think it would be perfectly fine but i just don't drink it.
