Question about rear slide on 8312ss

We just bought a 2012 8312 with two slides. The front slide is the standard 4ft slide however the rear slide (bunk) when fully extended is about 3/4" narrower at the top than it is at the bottom. Dealer tells me that is the norm. Measuring the inside revealed the same difference. Are there any other 8312 owners that can verify that this is the case and let me know if this is normal. Love the trailer other than that -- purely esthetic but just curious.

Ours is the same and did not think to ask the dealer as of yet. There seems to be no leak problem or anything like that. I will inquire at my next visit to the dealer
