Radio in 2011 Rockwood

One thing we did not check before ordering our 8312ss is if the radio can just play music through the inside and outside speakers at the same time or just the inside our just the outside. A lot of times we just want music on the outside, especially at night after we have put the kids to bed. tks

Yes you have that option.

You will see an A, B & C on the radio.

A - LH speakers inside
B - RH speakers inside
C - Both outside speakers

Works great.

What is LH and RH speakers. Is that speakers designated by location in the TT? And if you just use "C" that is outside only and nothing inside. What about both inside and outside at the same time?

Cecilt,
Not sure of the setup in your 8312SS, but in my 2006 8315SS:
A = Living Room Speakers
B = Bed Room Speakers
C = Unused (Would be Outside Speakers if equipped.)

I can use any combination of the three at any time...

Hope that helps.

John

So you could have it on A, B, and C at the same time and have music playing throughout the inside and outside? I sure hope so. Many times wife might be inside piddling around and I am outside and we both want to have music on. tks

That is correct. (At least in mine.)

(Of course, keep in mind, the Concertone will only do one audio signal at a time. That means you can't have the Radio on outside if she has a DVD playing inside.)

Party Time - Everyone is jamming on the same thing at the same time!

We take support calls because people lose all their audio - to which we reply "see that Buttons A,B,C? Can you please hit A and tell me what happens?" Typically the stereo is BLARING after turning the speakers back on!

One time we forgot that the outside speakers were on and we were watching a movie, I went out with the dogs an realized that anyone nearby was also listening to the TV. I went to the nearby campers and apologized about the sound. So just make sure your outside speakers are off if you are inside, especially at night!

Been there done that!
Felt like an ass. Didn't realize what we'd done until the
next day! Neighbors were good natured about it but if
the shoe had been on the other foot, I would have been
mad!
We try to remember to check the C speakers EVERY time
we turn on the unit.

we just picked up our 2011 2701ss yesterday. everything worked at the dealer, but when we turned on the radio at home, one of the inside speakers was dead. Do you just pull the screen off to check for conectivity?

Typically you have to pry off the trim ring around the outside
edge of the unit. This will hopefully pop off with some
convincing from a flat screwdriver or possibly a stiff
putty knife or even a butter knife.

Once the trim ring is off you should see screws to remove.
Then the unit will pull/fall out of the opening.
Be prepared for a birds nest of tangled wires in the rear.
Good luck!!

I wouldn't be doing much troubleshooting on my own. You have a brand new unit; let the dealer handle it under warranty. You could also end up voiding your warranty if you cause a further problem.

I know going to the dealer may not always be handy. That's why over the winter I made a list of minor issues, and had my dealer look at them all this month.

Post your exact problem in the Concertone forum
found here--
Concertone - Forest River Forums
There is a Concertone rep who monitors that area and
he will hopefully give you some needed help.
The concertone unit is fine once you get it working.

As others have said, it's a warranty issue but I know
how it feels to be miles from the dealer.

Good luck!!
