We have a 8280 with the same problem . It will not go lower than 6 . I talked with the dealer and he has had others with the same problem . A new system has been ordered and I hope that will solve the problem .

If it doesn't then contact the distributor directly. Their service was great...ask them to bench test the unit first before they ship it to you. I just installed my replacement and it works! Thanks to everyone's help here on the forum.

Unclear from responses... but is the fix for excessive volume to replace radio unit?

Have a new 2016 Rockwood with the iRV66 and while some volume from some sources is reasonable the volume from SD card and CD are just too loud and cannot be turned down with turning off.

That is correct! Replacing is your only proper fix. You can either go through your warranty department at the dealership or you can contact the company that produces the radio directly and you'll receive a new radio in a couple of days and you can change the radio out yourself. Very simple process. Contacting the company directly guarantees you get a tested and quality controlled item. Contact information can be found earlier in this thread for replacement radio.
