Ready to Order 8312SS Take a Look?

Wondering if anyone would take a look at the order form and let me know if I am missing something obvious? Ready to pull the trigger this week.

We like Cherry, and we heard about the brown taupe color being really warm in the sun so we opted to add options to the Platinum package in order to keep it white. I added another fan in the master bedroom to provide for cross camper ventilation.

I also have discussed tires with the dealer to understand options (not on this order form).

Thoughts?

Ours is sitting in Indiana waiting to be delivered. We ordered the platinum pckg with 2nd AC, power stab jacks, slide topper covers, raised reefer panels, standard floor and the standard cabinet color. We cant wait for the call saying come get it.

Very nice camper configuration! My only suggestion would be to skip the bedroom fan and commit to the second air conditioner. If you want a data point, our last camper was the typical polar white gelcoat with white roof. Our new camper is the tan gelcoat with tan roof. Temperature difference has been unnoticeable, but this unit has better insulation R-value and a 15.0K BTU A/C vs. the former's 13.5K. The enormous difference, however, is that it stays clean looking much longer!

Figure about 3 months for delivery.

X2 on the second AC unit. I'll never go back to having just one since we bought our 8327SS with it!!

I would drop the extra fan and add second A/C with 50 amp service. The 50A service will really come in handy if you camp in cold weather as you can run multiple space heaters AND still use appliances. Also, I would NOT pay for the factory power tongue jack- they tend to be low quality and noisy. I would leave the standard jack and buy a Barker VIP3500 and install it myself later. If you can remove 3 bolts, reinstall them and attach 1 wire to the positive post of your battery you can do the install. If you sell or trade this camper later, you can reinstall the manual jack and keep the Barker for the next rig.

You can order the unit with the 50 Amp with A.C. Prep (without the actual A.C.) for a $290 MSRP adder.
It's a write in option.

I would still add it all now. You will actually pay ~$700 for the whole shebang from the factory. If you do just the 50A and prep now, you'll spend ~$200 now and another $1000 or so for parts and labor if you decide to add the 2nd A/C later. Any camper I ever own that is over 25' in length will have 2 A/C units, but I live in the South where it can get really hot and humid in the Summer. Plus, if it's not 69-72 degrees in the camper, we aren't comfortable- and we like to be comfortable.

I would second this, but at least go ahead and get 50amp service and the pre-wire for a 2nd A/C. You'll have less juggling of high draw items on 50amp, like coffee makers, toasters, crockpots, space heaters (fall and spring) and hair dryers.

If you ever get the 2nd A/C, you can choose which one to run to keep the noise down. In the evenings we like running the bedroom A/C while watching movies, and the Living Room A/C while we sleep.

I think a great place for your 2nd Create a Breeze fan is in the Kitchen.
We ordered one there, and never have to open the fragile exterior vent to the stove hood fan. You'll also end up with two powerful fans near the center of your rig, so you can open windows on both ends and still move lots of air.

I would get slide toppers for slide outs( keeps twigs, and other stuff out of your slides)We have a 2nd fan in bedroom, but really the one in bathroom circulates air well. We have the 2604ws with power tongue & stableizer jack (I want to get setup with least amount of sweat). 15 btu air is good. We live in WV, but have traveled hot humid areas also.

I have the same rig in platinum package... color does not seem to affect temps. Black trim and hardware is a breeze to keep looking sharp.

Depending on location and weather extremes OP plans on camping in, the only thing I would add is the double pane windows. We camp early April to late November in the northeast and can keep things heated comfortably, but window condensation is a real chore to deal with.

Our single AC seems to keep up ok... YMMV based on location.

I also agree on the slide toppers - it will keep you from having to clean your slides off every time you close up.
Do you have an option for a fireplace? If so, consider getting one - you can usually heat your whole rig with the fireplace on the CG's dime and not use your propane


BTW, our rig has the tan gelcoat (and white roof) - we have no problems keeping the unit at 70 degrees in the summer here in Alabama

For our 8327ss we got 2nd ac and 2 fans, power tongue but not power stabilizers, cherry but not raised frig panels, Stan floor with min carpet, slide covers, and 2nd couch in kids room.

I actually took many of the suggestions here; 50 amp prep, dual pane windows; looked at the slider awnings and will do those after market but will def. do that.

Second fan (different location than what I was originally thinking) and elected to NOT do a second ac mainly because our camping is midwest and even in pop-up camping I cannot recall a day that I felt it was unbearable, however feel one ac will feel like a world of a difference. 50 amp is still there however should I quickly change my mind!

We upgraded to the following and very happy we did:
- 2nd AC (very happy about that, especially in the 90 degree weather)
-Tan color (white shows the black streaks much more)
-Power stabilizer
-Power Jack

Also, I was reluctant to get a warranty, and decided not to through the dealer. We got an after market warranty through wholesale warranty and glad we did after hot water heater issue.

I appreciate it has only been a month, however I would have expected a VIN to be assigned at this point. Truck is on a rail car on its way here, so perhaps I am getting antsy.

Has anyone ever contacted FR directly to see if they have a VIN. Dealer has been less than helpful with this, I believe he is pretty annoyed with me.

Any contacts?
