Rear view camera/monitor

Would very much like to hear from any Rockwood mini-lite owners that have this installed regarding where one can get more information about it, price, where bought, who installed and any other information you may be able to provide please. Thanks!

I installed one, but rarely use it. The camera installs easy and the monitor is in the truck. It only turns on for me when the park/headlights are on. I believe the brand is Furrion and I got it through Amazon.

I don't have a Rockwood mini-lite, but I use a Rear View Safety System.

Backup Camera System with Trailer Tow Quick Connect Kit

There are many other options, larger monitors, more cameras, on this page.

My installation was done locally and cost about $100. You can find installers on the site based on your zip code.

Is your trailer pre-wired for the camera? If so, it would be for the Furrion and it is plug and play. I have the Furrion FOS48TA and am very happy with it so far. I watched the price over time on Amazon and eBay and ended up buying it through Amazon as they had the best price at the time. They also have bean bag style mounting discs that you can use to mount the monitor on if you don't want to stick the suction cup to the windshield. This is an after market item as Furrion only provides the suction cup mount.

The literature shows it and some YouTube videos some type of device/mount so I'm thinking it may be pre-wired. I've looked at all the suggestions and will wait for mine to come on and verify before ordering unless an owner of a similar unit chimes in.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you've just ordered a new one? If so, all of the 2017 trailers and I believe the 2016 models as well come pre wired. Installation involves removing two screws on the bracket that's already installed, plugging in a headphone jack type connector from the camera to the wire on the camper, then attaching it with four screws. Takes about 15 minutes (and probably only 5 if you've done one before) to install. Camera is bluetooth connected to the monitor and runs when the marker lamps are on.

A few notes:

I found the kit on Amazon WITH the bracket (that's already installed on the trailer) was actually cheaper than the one without it.

Make sure you order the one with 48 in the model number.

The IR is nice for low light backing and it actually works pretty well.

It gives you a little better view for changing lanes in traffic. Sometimes I find it hard to judge whether or not somebody is hanging out right at the edge of the trailer or if they're farther behind than they look in the mirrors.
