Didn't modify the handle, I just took it off as it wouldn't fit under the "slightly altered" tonneau cover.

Not all hitches are the same size (Wide.) Look for the smallest one with the capacity that can carry the unit. Such as a 16K. Also check and see how hard it would be cut the pull handle out. A 4' wide bed would be tight. Look at a husky 16K that might work. I just looked at mine I could cut 4"or 5" off the pull handle. It only connected to the mech. by a bolt so It could be cut, From the center of the jaw with the handle fully pulled out is 23". It will also depend on the frame of the truck for mounting the rails. Hope that helps you out look at etrailers and also call them, they probably can tell you more. If you make up a tee to replace the handle it would fit easily.
