Replacing Venturer t.v. with standard t.v.

We are getting a Rockwood Ultralite and I understand that they come with a Ventuer ac/dc t.v. We would like to replace it with a larger Samsung HD t.v.and was wondering if anyone has done that and if there is anything we need to know so that we can still use the dvd player that comes with the camper and also so that the surround sound still works. Thanks

If you want it bad enough anything is possible, there is always a way to do it (usually). Do you camp with hookups most of the time? If so then the type of TV isn't an issue but I like the idea of an AC/DC TV if you dry camp a lot. If you are planning on using an inverter to drive a bigger TV realize that they draw alot more juice from your battery than you may think.

Mine came with a 22" Konka (never heard of it) LCD flat screen with an HDMI plug in for high def. Not that I'll use that, but the TV really isn't too bad.

We love our Venturer 22" HDTV with 12 volt power. They are 12 volt, the WFCO power center converter changes the AC 110v to 12volts. We do dry camp in the winter months here in Florida, and love having the TV, when nobody else does, unless thry run a generator. Our Venturer has it's own built in stereo speakers that you can use, so that it becomes completely separate from the Concertone ZX 600. You can watch TV with the Concertone off. BUT, the way it's hooked up on my trailer, the Concertone is plugged into the headphone jack on the back of the TV, thereby transferring the output sound over to the concertone. The TV and the built in Concertone DVD player are then playing through the speakers- A for the main cabin 5 surround sound speakers and the sub, and/or B, for the bedroom 2 spealkers in the ceiling, or C, the outside 2 speakers. NOTE; the surrouned sound is just plain stereo, unless a DVD is played that has true 5.1 surround sound capabilities. This is how my setup works, and it's all 12volt, too! Randy
