Our unit never had tire clearance more than (2in) above tires. It is a 34+ foot F/K V-Lite. Did they change the rubber compound in the flex axles? Is there more travel in the swing radius now? How much spacer did they place total between the (Axle plate and the Main frame)? Have they changed the (Arm angle from prior years? That is a LOT of increase in OA height, did they add another step? 5in is a Big jump from Stock! Youroo!!

My windjammer was part of the recall and the lift was recently installed by the dealer. It did raise is at least 3" from where it was. Much better. I was told that since it has been raised that the weight distrubuction hitch may need to be adjusted. If it does need to be adjusted I sure dont want to have to pay them for that. I would hope the recall would cover the need to re-adjust it if needed. Any thought on this?

5" was an estimate, but very close...

As Rsbcool stated above, the U-channel spacer is at least 3". Looks almost identical in size to a 2x4 on edge. Just for the record, youroo, these are the AL-KO 4,000 lb. torsion axles. My understanding is that the original factory installation is where things went wrong, as the spacer should have been installed at the factory to achieve AL-KO's specs.

Good thought, Rsbcool. I told my dealer's service guy that (since I bought my Equalizer 4 from them when the Windjammer was new and they installed it), it seemed to me that the adjustment (moved it two holes) should be part of the recall work. They did it without question. I don't know if the dealer was compensated for it by FR or not. Either way, my hat is off to WANA RV and FR for taking care of me.

Vern, I'm in the same boat, I was at the dealers lot this morning and they brought this up. The trailer is with them right now as the lift was just installed. I also bought the equalizer hitch from them in the original purchase. I was not told they were going to charge for the hitch adjustment just want to have my ducks in a row in the event a charge is required. Hopefully they will be a stand up dealer as yours are.

Moving the hitch up two holes is not a major problem unless you don't have the tools. Might take 5 minutes tops.

1.5 inches doesn't seem like enough clearance to dissipate tire heat

Picked up my trailer yesterday and it now has about 5" +\- clearance between the tires and inter fender. Dealer made adjustment on equalizer hitch as the trailer was nose down when hooked up. They adjusted mine two holes and that leveled out the trailer. I could see a slight bow in the tension bars now but it tow as before. No charge for the adjustment. Glad this is done.

I have a 2013 windjammer and it was recalled. Going in tomorrow for the fix. I had about 2 inches clearance. They are adding two more inches. Check with Forest River again.
