If your table is like the Ops, you could simply turn it over rather than folding it down. That might as much work as folding, though.
If you have the crappy heavy folding FR table and a U-dinette, someone posted about attaching a strap around the leg next to the center bench. He screwed the strap permanently to the bench on one side of the leg and used turn fasteners like these on the other side.
Unfortunately, I can't find the thread (darn it, I found it last week!).

That just maybe a part of the window since my windows are different and I don't know what that thing is. Just a thought.

That's the turn knob to roll the window out.
I have never folded mine down for travel. Over the course of 2 years, that's 19 trips totally just under 4000 miles. No problems so far. It'll slide out or to the side just a little, but it has never caused us any problems.

You could install this and it's very easy to push the table down or pull it up with just two fingers!

Just checked a picture from my 2017 2306 and the leg on the wheel well side is definitely off set towards the center of the table.

I think the verdict is that one of the legs needs be moved inward to miss the wheel well. Evereddie nice observation about the possibility of a pre installed latch on the ext. wall.
But unfortunately that's the opener for the frameless windows. I did myself investigate this in real world, so a decent call looking at a single image.

Thanks. I was sort of grasping at straws. I did not want to believe that Forest River would put the wrong table in there but they did. Or the dealer for whatever reason switched it. Not impossible.

I've read a half dozen threads here in the last 5 yrs where someone had an issue with their table and the dealer gave them one from another unit on the lot. How well THAT unit's table gets replaced is anyone's guess!

This is my table. I'm going to put a strap on the wheel well to hold that leg, and then I'm going to take a strip of wood that fits between the benches and put two holes in it (one for each table foot). So that should keep the other end from swinging around.
Putting it up / taking it down is a PITA, IMO.

Never had an issue with the table. It came with a strap to hold the legs up. The idea of the design is to take the table out of the camper; so is an indoor/outdoor table. Also, is offset to clear the fender well. A reason for stowing the table is to make a bed.

Strap to hold the legs up, but it walks all over when traveling.

I never liked the table. I kept hitting my knee on the leg and mechanism. I swapped it out for a single fixed base table.

I have a 2017 2306 also and I am pretty sure you have the wrong table. I think one of the legs is offset. We hardly ever use the table because we use the dinette area for sleeping, so I hardly ever set it up...
