Rockwood 2501SS Cutting Hole In Super Slide

Has anyone here ever cut a hole in their super slide. I want to buy a door/hatch unit cut a hole in the side of the super slide under one of the dining bench seats, so I can access items stored under the bench seat from the outside. Does anyone have any idea of the the structural make-up of the super slide exterior wall.....i.e. wall studs, wood, metal?

My 2604 has what you want to do. I can't help you on the structure etc, but knowing that Rockwood does do what you want on another model will give you a starting point as to where to get the door ASM. If there is a window over the table above where you want to put the door I doubt there is a frame structure there.

If you have a stud finder that can be calibrated to the wall of your camper, you can check for stud locations. I think you would be fine as long as you don't mess with the internal structure of the wall.

Thanks guys I did not think about the stud finder.
Turbs, The wall is vacuume bonded, I think its like a frame, spray foam, fiberglass exterior and the inside paneling all sandwiched together. My bigest concern staying far enough away from the edge to prevent a run out crack. Thanks for any and all ideas.

As for "run out cracks", just make sure you radius the corners and then file or sand the corners smooth. Stress cracks will propagate from a sharp or rough cut in fiberglas.
