Rockwood 2604ws or 2703ws
Considering the 2604 or 2703 for our first purchase. Does anyone have any pros/cons. Suggestions on any options to get or avoid. Thanks

I have a 2011 2604... it has been very good. Minor shower leak when new, dealer fixed it right away. Recommend.

We have the 2604 and LOVE it the added space in the bathroom is nice as opposed to the 2703 which has a hallway taking away floor space from the bath (which IMO is a big waste of floor space). On the other hand the 2703 has 2 additional slides, so if you have kids then the added space will be needed. It boils down the which one YOU feel most comfortable in and your TV CAN TOW.

We're looking at this TT also. Questions for you, please. Where do you store your food items? Judging from the floorplan on the Rockwood website, there is no pantry.
Can the chairs be moved around, or are they fstened to the floor?
Thanks,
Wright and Penny

The chairs can be moved and strapped down. As for the pantry, we have not physically seen this model. Waiting on one to arrive at the dealer. On the 2703, we were able to spend plenty of time viewing this model at the STL RV show the other weekend. Really like this one with the dual slide in the rear.

We have a 2012 2604 that we are now selling b/c we've moved up to a bigger model, since we spend so much time in it. As far as food storage, there is plenty - there is a base cabinet under the counter that is accessible from both sides of the counter - the kitchen side as well as two pantry doors as you enter the coach. Same goes for the top cabiner - accessible from both sides, giving more than enough food storage. As far as options, we bought, but very seldom used, the countertop extension. You can't leave it up when you travel, so we stored ours on the couch when driving, meaning tou always have to move it when you get parked. DO get the raised refrigerator panels - they really dress up the 'fridge, making it match the cabinet fronts.
Ours is listed for sale in the classifieds section of the forum, if you want to see the complete list of options that we added (or if you want to buy a great 1-year-old used unit at substantial savings.)

We also got the freestanding dining room table and chairs in lieu of the dinette. We really like that option and have ordered it on our new Windjammer.

The two barrel chairs can be moved around - in fact, the one on the left needs to be moved over in front of the door, between the other chair and the counter to allow the slide to close.

Wife and I have a 2011 2604 purchased new. The unit works great for the two of us. (empty nesters) Have free standing dinette, slide topper and quite a few of the other options available. Have had really nothing to complain about. Have been on several long trips it pulls well. TV is 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi. When we bring the slide in I put the one chair in front of the sink and let the other one in place. We find it to be a great unit for our use. Best-Of-Luck

We've had no problems towing with our Silverado 1500. This past fall we took a trip of 6,000 miles through Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Up and down mountains in Colorado and parts of Utah, long windy stretches of Arizona (tornado warnings near the Petrified Forrest) and didn't have a bit of trouble towing it. We held our speed to 60-65 mph on most of the trip and got around 10-11 mpg. We're using a 10,000 lb Equal-i-zer hitch.

Ours is also an extended cab 4X4 with a standard (6.5 foot) bed, with a cover over the bed...and we loaded it up pretty heavily.

The picture on our avitar was taken at a campground just across the highway from the main entrance to Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado. To get there, we crossed the Rockies at Wolf Creek Pass (10,000 ft.) into Durango, CO. Pulled up and down the mountains with no trouble.

We are , too. (Youngest DD is 42.) Friends of ours got the freestanding unit on their Starcraft (similar floorplan) and regretted giving up the under seat storage. Our main issue is the air bed sofa. DW sleeps on the sofa to avoid the snoring and that sofa is a deal breaker. Our nearest dealer is looking into options for us. Push comes to shove, we'll get the trailer w/o the sofa and buy one aftermarket, perhaps a futon on a frame.
Anyone done that"

Thank you to everyone who has replied with all the helpful information. We are still undecided on the 2604 or 2703. Just trying to get the best deal.
New question for everyone, guessing it is better to buy local, but I have noticed some cheaper prices out of state. Any thoughts.
Thanks again for the help

We paid, from our local dealer, 23,900 for 2703WS. Brand new. I feel like I got a great price as it listed for almost 37,000. Electric tongue jack, electric levelizer jacks and upgraded 15000 BTU a/c. Dealer also threw in VUE Cube satellite. I'm happy with the deal. There's something to be said for eye to eye contact seeing who blinks first for the final offer/deal.
