Hi, i'm a 3 year RVer and looking to buy a new camper. Does anyone here own this model or have any comments on it?

I bought it 3 months ago. With the dinette sleeper instead of the recliners. Can't figure out how to get a flat lay in the dinette cushion yet. Other than that, we love it. Roomy for its size and large kitchen with plenty of counter space.

Hello,
I used to own this model. The back is too heavy, the long scented slide never worked correctly from day 1. Towing wise you need a full load of water and lots of weight to get the tongue heavier. Sway is a major issue with any wind. I traded an bought a fifth wheel unit instead after 12 months. Same brand, love rockwood, just this trailer has had problems. Dealer and forest river looked after us. We are apply campers now.

I've had no problem with sway and it certainly is not light on the tongue end. I've had no slider issues either. Sorry you were unhappy with yours.

Went to the CAT scales right after we left the dealer. Tongue: 800, Axles: 5680. I have dual friction sway controls that I used one a previous trailer that weighted 1000 lbs. more than this one. Pulls perfect. Didn't have to change a thing. Minor stuff, just like every other brand out there. There's going to be problems with them all.
Went on a plant tour with the wife and grandkids last Tues. Very impressive. Like the fact that every unit is pressure tested at the last station before it leaves the building.
Hope this helps.

Just a thought. Those with towing issues, like me, might have the 2703 SS, These units do not have the front bedroom slide. The tongue weight on mine is about 600lb, although I do need to get by a cert scale. I cannot get this thing to tow like I want, due to a lot of fore and aft bouncing. The 2703ss have a LARGE rear window, which is very heavy, the WS has a much smaller window with more cabinets. I'm wishing now we had gotten the WS model.

The keystroke sprinter we use to have did the same thing until I readjusted the hitch. Found a level pad and went at it. The dealer hadn't done anything except hook it up and eye ball it for level. Our new 2703 ws is the same length as the splinter and pulls the same. Just a 1000 lbs. lighter.
Maybe check your setup or add some water if your tank is in the front.

I have adjusted it at least 8 times. Done a lot reading on RV.net on proper hook up of WD hitches and specifically with my '04 Suburban. If I get the front of my burb where it's supposed to be height-wise, it's a bucking bronco. I have to put shift less weight to the front of the burb to make it tolerable. As I said, the WS and the SS are different TTs.

We just bought a 2703WS and pick it up next Thursday. We originally wanted a 2703SS but it sold a week before we went to buy it. I couldn't find any others in the area so we went with the 2703WS. I have also heard that the 2703SS has been discontinued.
I did notice there is a big difference in TW between the two and I'm guessing that small front wardrobe slide adds the extra weight on the 2703WS.

2703ws is a nicer layout. Better closet space, pantry etc. also doesn't have the hideaway tv that proved problematic for us.

Sorry Burb, maybe I misunderstood. Our splinter was a rear living with a large window and slide for the sofa and dinnette. Thought it was about like yours.
Good luck.

For those of you who have this trailer, what do you do for a trash can? Dimensions? We are thinking about putting a small can under the counter top extender.
Thanks!

We have a new 2703WS and have only been out in it twice in the past month. Love the floor plan, it's so roomy and the kitchen is easy to work in with the large counter. We've had a couple of issues that needed to be fixed and we are in the process of building a frame for the pocket door in the bathroom as you can see through it to the bedroom when it is closed. Not something we want when having guests staying with us. I too cannot figure out how to lay the cushions flay on the dinette..... Need to figure this out soon as our grandchildren will be staying with us.
All in all, we love it.

Talked with our dealer regarding the cushions not laying flat on the dinette when converting it to a bed. Took pictures and they sent them to FR. It was determined that the brackets for the table need to be lowered to accommodate the different thickness of the cushions. Out trailer has been at the dealers for over a week to take care of this problem.

2703WS TVs
Hi, I am new to this forum. I just bought this trailer on Saturday. Here is my question. Has anyone gotten this trailer with the bedroom TV included? Has anyone gotten this trailer with a tv smaller than a 32" in the livingroom? Here are my concerns. The manufactures brochure says that a 32" tv is standard in the 2703ws. So my specific coach paperwork also lists that Convenience package B was installed at an additional cost of about $2,500. Under it's line items it lists a 22" LCD tv. I did not however get it and both the dealer and the manufacturer are saying it only comes with one tv. So I am confused. It appears I paid for a 22" LCD as an option in Convenience Package B but did not get it. Anyone else have this problem or am I missing something?

Bob,
Is the 890lb tongue weight your fully loaded weight, because the brochure shows it as 549lbs. Also what kind of hitch are you using with your 150, would you feel comfortable towing this with an Expedition? We love this unit with it's rear living layout and large kitchen and would like to be able to postpone a new tow vehicle purchase for a while.
Thanks, Mike

I don't think it has 890 # of tongue weight but I have not weighed it yet, but it doesn't squat a 2500 Silverado 1" even withoout the WD bars. I pulled it with a 1500 Silverado several times before I upgraded to 2500.But only here in La and Ms. No problem on flat ground, do have to hang on when 18 wheeler passes though or coming down a long bridge, it will push you around. Much better and more relaxing to tow with a 2500.
