Rockwood 8317SS slide-out problem

When I went to de-winterize my trailer, the slide-out will not open and only makes a grinding noise. I was told when I bought the trailer that I could manually crank the slider open in the case of an emergency. Directly across from the slide, I found what I think is the manual crank but it doesn't have a lug nut end, only a tube with a metal rod through it. Any ideas 1. why slide-out wont move, 2. how to manually crank open?

My manual crank has a tube with a pin thru it, the same as you describe and the manual crank handle they supplied to use with it has a hollow end with a slot to accept the pin, did you not get a crank handle?

Did you check fuses? Is your battery fully charged, try it connected to your TV with engine running, do your other slides work? just some ideas.

My slide gears etc came bone dry I sprayed them liberally with lithium grease, hope that was the right stuff same with the tv antenna is was so stiff, I had to spray all the locks too half the keys would not turn the locks, basic stuff that FR or RVW should have done before I picked it up.
