I made and stained 4inch wood blocks then screwed them on and glued carpet to the bottom of the blocks. At the very least remove the rubber pads and use a towel or rug under the feet when the bed is in use. I got lucky, most of my dents in the floor came back to the original shape. Jay

Jay,

We love our 2504! Already taken it out twice and one more time before it is winterized. I will def take your advice on the feet of the bed and change those out asap.

Rockfordroo,

That is what I thought but I was just hoping it would be a connector. Thanks for the info.

Any tips on winterizing? Where is the hot water heater bypass under the bunks?

At least on my 2504s the by pass valves are under the lower bunk in the rear of the unit. Open the rear most outside door that is under the bunks and remove the rear lauan panel. The valves are at the inside end of the water heater. Jay

Anyone get a ton of water out of the airconditioner when you shut it off?

I was running mine this summer. A while after turning it off I was getting something from a front storage compartment and couldn't figure out what was dripping on me, as it was bone dry outside. I looked up and water was dripping from the rain gutter. I realized it was water from the AC draining off. I haven't used my AC a lot, but I'd have to say yes.

Eclipse - we have a 2016 2504s and are loving it. I bought a carpet runner - I think it's prob 5' - and place it at the door going across almost to the pantry next to the dinette. It works a great dual purpose of taking care of dirt, etc. that might be tracked in and covers the area where the Murphy bed feet sit when it's put down. No sign of any indentation at all. And, it doesn't need to be picked up when the slide comes in.

The condensation I'm speaking of pours out of the unit into the floor when you turn it off. Happened twice so far.

There is a gasket between the unit and your roof that should prevent that from happening. Probably needs tightening up.. Remove your inside grill /bezel and at each corner there is a screw/bolt you can tighten. Tighten it up and that should stop the leak.

Yes close those two, then open the other one.

Has anyone experienced any issues with their slide? When my slide is out and we attempt to bring it in, we blow the fuse and then have to bring it in by hand. However, when the slide is in, it goes out with no problem. I am thinking about replacing the slide motor to see if that helps? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rockwood Mini Lite 2504s

Our Murphy beds frame where the hinge is starting to creak and there is movement. I took some pictures and it looks like there are only two screws that go into 1X1s. And on the side that is coming loose both screws miss both of the 1X1s. I really want to fix this before it becomes a larger issue. It is still under warranty but I don't know if they will try and fix it since it is technically not broken yet. I want it done right so I am almost to the point of fixing it myself. I was going to put 2x4s behind the 1X1s and put 3 more screws that are longer. What do you think I should do?Click image for larger version

I would try that fix myself and avoid all the hassle. I guess I better go check mine to see if it needs reinforcement. I would probably add more wood and screws as you have suggested and silicone spray the hinge if it's binding.

You seem to have an aluminum frame. I don't believe mine has that; I think it's wood. When my 2503S was delivered, there were NO screws on the street side. The dealer ran 3 screws into it to match the curb side. He did it from the outside, i.e., he opened the storage compartment door on the street side and ran the screws in to the 1 x 1 and into whatever is on the other side. When I got home, I ran 2 more screws into it on both street and curb sides so now I have 5 screws on each side.

It's a pretty schintzy design.

I ran three screws on each side into the 1x1's and into the aluminum frame on the inside. Looking down fron the top while laying on the bed I can see an aluminum frame and 2 screws were put thru from the inside out into the 1x1's. To add more screws from the inside would mean taking the bed apart to get in there it looked to me. I used 2 inch screws and washers. I drilled a small pilot hole first then a little larger one in the wood only so it would not split. I don't think 2 inches went all the way thru the aluminum that I can see but it did go in.
Hopefully I will not have a problem with the Murphy bed mounting with this reinforcement. I used number 8 -2 inch sheet metal screws.

@rcguy Thanks for he info! Which 1x1did you drill into? I have two 1X1s beside each other. I was thinking about going from the inside all I would have to do is take off the facia board which it looks to be attached with some brads to the aluminum frame then put my screws in like from the factory. I guess use 2 1/2 screws? Any pics of your fix?
