Rockwood Mini Lite 2504s

Hi. We're upgrading from a Vcross Vibe 6502 to a Rockwood Mini Lite 2504s (the newest model Mini Lite). We like the Vibe but after one season of camping, we just needed more space, and we really like this floor plan. We had to upgrade our tow vehicle, as the Highlander wouldn't tow this 25'10", 4,500 lb. camper.

Has anyone else here already purchased a 2504s or considering it? What do you like about this model and the Rockwood Mini Lites in general?

I cant comment on the 2504s, however, we just took delivery of a 2014 2306. Which is very similar to the 2504s minus the slide. Comparing my trailer to my parents Outback 289re, the rockwood seems to be a much better built unit. The fit and finish is much nicer. We have only stayed in it for 3 nights so far, but it is a very nice little camper.

Congrats on the 2306 and glad to know you're enjoying it. I've been researching so many campers and I'm happy to have landed on another Forest River and worked with my same dealer.

We wanted the extra space of the 2504s as we expect our adult children to go camping with us on occasion. The dinette may not be a full bed, but i think two adults can sleep snuggly in it (it's plenty long at 85", but only 4' wide).

We take delivery in a couple of weeks. Then I can't wait until April when we can try her out. Happy camping!

We also have a 2014 rock wows 2306. We have had it almost a year now. It was the first batch of 2014s off the line. We have really enjoyed it. I think we logged about 10 trips last year and have several already planned this year. Find a good dealer in yor area because you may find some warranty work that needs to be done. If you have a power jack, you will probably have to get it sealed

I have heard of the tongue jack issues. If/when mine fails I will replace it with a better unit. We have done one weekend so far in our 2306 and I think it fits the bill perfectly for us.

I assume the 2504S has the Murphy bed in it. We have a 2304S with the murphy bed and and we just love it. It gives you so much more room when the bed is up. The murphy bed is one of the best things that can be added to a small camper in my opinion.

Yes, the Mini Lite 2504s has the Murphy bed. I agree that it is a nice option to open up the floor plan and give us flexibility for daytime use. With the bed up and the slide out, this camper feels pretty spacious. I was a little concerned about the lack of exterior storage, but even with the Murphy bed, it still has a pass-through storage compartment. Not huge, but probably sufficient for our needs. Plus there is exterior storage under the rear bunk.

We are very excited to take delivery, but it will be April before we can try her out camping. Spring can't come soon enough.

Another 2014 2306 owner... Nothing but happiness for this family. 34 nights camped in '13 and no real problems.

We have the 2503s (2013) -- bought it new late in the season last year and have only had it out a couple of times -- we are planning a trip to Florida this summer, that ought to be a real test! The large bathroom and shower sold us on it! And we also like the murphy bed set up, it does give you a lot more room. We don't have the power tongue jack, but we may have one installed.

we have the 2104s. it has plent of room for the 2 of us. We now kind of wish we would have purchased the 2504s for the bigger bathroom only.

We just upgraded from a mini lite etc to the 2504 S for more space. Since you've had the 2504s how are you liking it? Ours will be ready for pick up in March.

Wow, I'm jealous, the 2504S looks awesome. I have the Flagstaff 23LB (same as a 2306). I'd love to have the U dinnette and the slide. I'd probably have to upgrade my TV again. Congrats you guys.

Congratulations on your new 2504s. We haven't taken delivery of our new 2504s yet; expect to in late February if this cold weather ever breaks (spring can't come soon enough). We are so excited to get the new camper and hit the road for our favorite campgrounds here in MO.

Enjoy your new camper!

New 2014 Rockwood Mini Lite 2504s

We are so excited. Just took delivery this week of our new 2014 Mini Lite 2504s. Despite winter's grip on our region, we're loading it up and making plans for our de-winterization trip in April.

Really like the layout of this new model and all the room. Lots of interior storage and adequate outside storage.

Can't wait to start camping in the 2504s. Spring can't come soon enough.

We've only towed it home from the dealer (about 20 miles on Interstate) and then to the storage lot

The Durango has the power and ability to tow up to 7200 lbs, but I can still feel it when a big rig flies by. I think the tow/haul function of the Durango and our Equal-i-zer hitch will do the job. But the true test is when we go on our first trips in April.

We had a Vcross Vibe 6502 previously that weighed about 1200 lbs less and was about 5 feet shorter. We pulled that with a Highlander with tow capacity of 5000 lbs. I didn't really have any problems, but I could feel the sway if I got above 60 mph.

We purchased from Bill Thomas Campers in Wentzville in January. It was the only 2504s they had in stock. I see you're in O'Fallon. Did you purchase from Bill Thomas?

Ours doesn't have the night shades, but otherwise has all the bells and whistles, including the 15,000 btu air conditioner.

Did our PDI last Thursday when it was about 18 degrees so we couldn't test the water system (swore I'd never purchase another travel trailer in the winter, but here I am). Didn't check the heated mattress, but everything else seemed tip top.

We absolutely love all the space inside the 2504s. Outside storage is a little tighter than our Vibe, but we fit everything in, with plenty more storage available inside. Looking forward to our de-winterization trip to Cuiver River State Park when the weather gets better.

Hope you're enjoying your new 2504s soon!

We went to Bill Thomas the day after the RV show and they did have one 2504s on the lot and loved it (maybe the one you bought)..We have been looking online and have found some pretty good deals. Bill Thomas would not match or even come close to them so we ended up buying from Wana Rv in Indiana, custom built to what we wanted, we just have to wait 8 weeks to get it and a long drive. Upgrading form a pop up the drive will help get used to it....Hope you enjoy your first day of camping... Cuiver River will be our first stop as well!
