Rockwood MiniLite 2109s Bed Question

We have the short queen factory mattress and are interested in an additional memory form (or like) mattress topper. Any suggestions?

We used a 4" memory foam/gel topper. There is some overhang because it is for a regular length mattress, but it doesn't negatively impact anything. You can find them at Walmart in thicknesses from 2-4 inches depending on personal preference and budget. It does impact the effectiveness of the heated mattress, but only minimally.

Several months ago I searched for 2" memory foam pads in queen size. I found the best price on king size pads...better than queen size. Bought 2 king size and cut them down to size with utility knife and big scissors. Cut 1 for the short queen and cut the other for the dinette which I roll and stash under the long dinette seat until needed. Worked out great. That gave me a couple of extra pieces I use for kneeling pads, ladder pads, etc.

How does the overhang effect the ability of the slide to come in?

Rockwood MiniLite 2109s Bed Question

Interesting question about the slide. I have a different model mini lite. Our Murphy bed has to be in the "up/stowed" position to bring the slide in. So it has no effect on our slide

I thought all of the mini lite models had the Murphy bed. I was mistaken. I just took a peak at your floor plan. The topper really doesn't add any length. We have it tucked down the front of the mattress, and the sheet keeps it from sticking out very far. You could always try to put the excess at the pillow end if it is an issue, or, I don't see any reason that you couldn't cut the topper. Mine is a memory foam/gel combo, but there isn't any "gel" in it that would ooze out. I'm not really sure what it means. Didn't mean to cause confusion with your particular floor plan

We also have the 4" queen size topper on our Murphy bed. We put the extra length at the head of the bed and it keeps the pillows from falling through.

The best way to cut down memory foam is with a electric knife. Cuts right through it!

I have a 4" topper that over hangs the mattress a couple inches. It is definitely worth the money. The slide squeezes the topper a little but I just lift it up when the slide is in.

Another benefit for me is the extra length. I'm 6' and the standard bed is just a bit short for me. The topper's extra inches makes the length a little better for me.
