Rockwood Signature 8314bss

We attended the local RV show yesterday and luckily they had the 8314bss on the floor. We loved the floorplan, roomy, 32" tv and finely finished with comfortable furniture. Can anyone provide feedback on their experience with this unit. This week we hope to see a Wind Jammer 3008W and compare.

Thanks, Bill & Cheryl

We bought the same unit last month after a year's worth of research, and so far we absolutely love it! This is the first RV we've owned, but the build quality and fit and finish are outstanding. In just over a month we've camped twice for a total of 4 nights. The only issue we had was trying to tow it with a 1/2 truck; even though on paper the truck was capable, in reality we were pushing the limits. Replaced the Sierra 1500 with a 2500HD Duramax, and all is well! We also replaced the friction sway system with a Reese dual cam, well worth the money.

Thanks for your input. Were you in the mountains when experiencing the half ton weakness?

I vote for the 3008. Sent you a private message in response to the one you sent me. The v-nose pulls so easy.

We bought our 8314bss in April 2010, we love it and it is very comfortable. We have camped 51 days this year and plan to add a few more before the year ends.

No, just around the DFW area, fairly flat terrain. The 1500 5.3L would pull it, just didn't leave any room for margin. Now, we did have 3.42 gears, 3.73 would have been better. The rear springs were also an issue, I added helper springs from SuperSpring and that helped to some degree. And yes, I had the WD hitch set up properly and adjusted as much as possible. We wanted the ability to go anywhere with the trailer, so we opted to move up to the 2500HD Duramax - we went from 9500# conventional towing capability to 13,000# and plenty of power in case we need it.

8314bss

We compared these two units and chose the 8314bss. The layout is great and works perfect for us. I wouldn't tow it with less than a 3/4 ton. Just returned from the N. Georgia mountains, elevation 3,000 ft, no problem. Could not have done it with a 1/2 ton. First extended trip and got several compliments on new tt.

Good to hear all the good comments on this unit. We're looking real hard at the same floor plan, only a fifth wheel.

we had the same floorplan in our 2000 Alpenlite 5th wheel and loved it for 10 years.

We purchased our 8314BSS in June 2010, 2nd season with no problems. Love the floor plan. I believe you would be very happy with it.
