Rockwood signature ultra light fridge lights

Hi again. Our 2015 rockwood fridge came with blue led lights. I read that they are designed to kill bacteria but when you're trying to find something in the fridge it's very difficult. I have on occasion used the flashlight on my cell phone to see better. Lol I was just wondering if they can be replaced with normal white lights. It's also interesting that once I had a paper bracelet on from a rec centre and when I moved my hand into my fridge it lot up light those old black light posters in the 70 ' s.
Thanks

We had the same complaint with ours.

Dometic sent free replacement white lights when I inquired. Give them a call at 574-294-2511. Good luck.

It's a very simple job. One wire clip and two screws as I recall.

I removed the factory light from my Dometic and replaced it with a single strip of super bright LED bulbs that came with 3M adhesive backing. Very low profile and it adheres across the top and down one side. Now you have to wear sunglasses! Very simple solution and there are no dark spots....plus energy efficient and cooler than an incandescent bulb could even think of. Single bulb is ancient history in my fridge,

I did not post a photo. I will have to dig back to see where I got that strip. It was only $10 as I recall. I have another one I have not used yet. Wont get a chance to get by the trailer for pics of the install till next weekend but I will post.

HSVBamaBob,

I found the strip light link. Looks like it is 7.99. I got the cool white strips. The connection end just goes to the positive and negative where the old bulb connects. You can solder or find another means to attach the power. If you use the existing door switch for power it will go off and on with your door.

My door switch and bulb was on the right side mid point. I attached the LED strip there and ran part of it up the right side of the cabinet and then across the top of the cabinet a few inches back from the front of the cabinet. Before you peel the backing off the strip to press it into place use rubbing alcohol to get the cabinet good and clean so you can have a clean, strong install. Here is the link:

Thanks for the solution to the blue light. How do you remove the plastic cover over the light? I got the white replacement module but don't want to force off the cover and possibly break it. Is it clipped or screwed on?
