Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8285IKWS

Does anyone have the 8285IKWS fifth wheel? I am looking at a used one and wanted to know what people like and dislike about their 8285IKWS fifth wheel.

rockwood signature ultra lite

I have a 2016 Signature ultra lite 8285ikws and I have problems with the heat reaching the down stairs, hardly any heat. Can't feel any air coming out of vents . I get to much heat in the bathroom. The heater is located right under it. I brought it back to the dealer and they told me that is the way it is because of the location of the heater, the twist and turns of the ducting and the length of the ducting. The dealer said that is what forest river says. I haven't been able to find any solution for it, or any other comments on it. I don't know if the dealer was telling me the truth or not.

The only issue I would have is the kitchen is not accessible when the slides are in. If you like to use kitchen when on the road, you have to open the slides.

Get dampered floor registers and replace the upper ones and keep damper closed, helps quite a bit.

I love it!

We have an 8289WS and we love it. We have 30amp and 1AC unit. For Florida is not enough in summer time, but we already manage to play with the AC vents. The only thing we have is, if you are camping primitive (with a generator), make sure you turn the water heater off (the switch is outside) if you are using the AC. Of course, remember I have a 30amp.
Good luck
