I have weighed our trailer loaded and it tipped the scales at exactly 5540#. If I recall correctly my yellow sticker indicates that I can carry approx 790#....that said, it also states that the empty weight of our trailer is approx 5700#.....go figure!!

I just found a pict of the yellow sticker, here are the exact numbers--Dry Weight 5779#, Cargo Max 894#. You can see that my loaded weight is well under FR's claim of the Dry Weight.

I'm finding these numbers very curious. I'm looking at a 2011 Rockwood 2604 (no wardrobe slide) and the dry weight is 5679# and the cargo capacity is 915#. The axles are only 3000# so those numbers make sense. Thing is, our 2010 Roo 23SS had 3500# axles. Why would FR use weaker axles on a heavier trailer?

We bought a 2604ws last spring. We love it. I bought a couple of hanging shelves(cloth of canvas $10-11 Walmart) to hang in the wardrobes, because we needed more lay down clothes, not hanging.

If you don't use the shower much, it can easily become a hanging closet

we just took delivery of a 2019 2604WS. we ordered it with 50A and all the power gizmos (not many considering the generous standard setup). only have used 3 times in as many months but it's easy to tow, large enough for 4 adults and well made. we shopped the 25-27 market for a year before arriving to this model. what attracted us was the rear living area that overlooks the lakes we commonly camp.

We bought a 2019 2604WS in June 2018. Love it. Had dealer tap into microwave outlet to add an outlet in the bottom of the overhead cabinet by the door. We have a power strip plugged in to add kitchen appliances. We don’t like the outlet by the side of the cabinet under the sink because it is in the path of the entryway. Someone could accidentally get caught on a power cord and pull an appliance onto them. We switched the sofa for theater seating. My wife loves this camper. She feels it is the best one we have ever owned in 40+ years of owning campers.

Rockwood heard you and the '19 including an under cabinet receptacle. We've only used twice but discovering tricks all the time. Only modification I've done is to add a bike rack on the bumper. It's kept under a roof but eventually I'll add a solar panel to keep batteries topped off. We order with the standard sleeper sofa but it arrived with the optional theater seat. The wife chides me for dual a/c but I suspect we'll need it one day & then it'll be gloating time. I'm thinking of tweaking seating by replacing the standard rear recliners with a European style recliner and tape it off for my use only. Enjoy your camper and be safe!

Mark - Did you reinforce the bumper before hanging the bike rack? I’m considering adding some items to our rear bumper (maybe a second spare tire, fuel cans or Honda EU2200 generator), but not sure how strong it is.

i moved the spare tire outboard and added a bolt-on receiver to mount a bike rack and that's working well. And like you, I would like to use the receiver to mount a a pair o EU2000s & fuel tank. But, no, i did not reinforce the bumper for the bikes. I'll do more research before i add a platform with generator$$. 100 lbs of generators and 50 lbs of fuel cantilevered might put a lot of torque on the welds.

i did asked the dealer how much weight the bumper would support and got what amounts to a shoulder shrug. my guess is no one wants the liability.

You might want to at least install some Safety Struts:

https://mount-n-lock.com/safetystrut...bumper-failure

Here are some other options:

The bumper alone is NOT a good way to go.

Mark - Have read internet forum horror stories of rear bumpers falling off. Potential for bigtime liability issues.

So we’re looking at reinforcing rear bumper (buy a kit or weld) and/or fabricating something up front by the batteries/propane tanks.

Like you – we have a pair of EU2200s, fuel, bikes, etc. Wife likes the idea of a second spare trailer tire (currently running MAXXIS ST225/75R15, 10 PR, M8008s).

Have an ARE cap on the truck, with a Yakama basket on top of the cap (for canoe and sea kayaks). Could put spare tires up there. Maybe EU2200s up front by batteries/propane tanks, fuel on back bumper and bikes inside truck cap… So many options. Need to continue to research…

Bob: Look at the 2nd link in my post (post #52).

Post 2 of that link shows the beefed up receiver I put on my Roo 19; Post 12 shows the one on my Mini Lite. Had the Roo for 3 years with no issues. I'm on my 5th year on my Mini Lite; no issues.

I have a Thule 990XT bike rack with 2 bikes, so about 90 lbs. The bike rack is about 10 years old.

Saw that. Great work!

For now - I’m thinking the bikes are ok in the back of the truck, enclosed in the ARE cap.

Priority of effort is to get the plastic fuel jugs in as safe a location as possible (away from truck occupants in the event of a crash).

Where do folks store their gas cans when traveling? Last trip I put them in the back of the truck, next to the EU2200s, clothes bags, water jugs, food crates, etc.

Ideally, would like to separate the fuel from the other stuff.

Maybe I’m overthinking it...
