The 20 degree temp difference on the outside skin doesn't tell us what effect that has on the inside temp....just saying!

I agree.
The temperature inside averages 3 to 5 degrees higher, the point was to show that the color does make a difference and it is only natural some of the heat is transferred to the inside as most RV's are not that well insulated.

Interesting to see the 20 degree temp difference just the same...I can only imagine the difference when they were using the dark colour prior to going lighter with champagne!! No surprise they had front nose issues warping when they had the almost chocolate brown front nose caps.

Not sure if the colour makes that much difference on the inside of the TT. But we love the champagne package on our 8324BS. Click image for larger version

I was not a big fan of the champagne when we started shopping, but could not find the white in my area, so we ended up with champagne. Now that I have had it almost a year, I Love it! Looks much better at the camp site and blends in well with the surrounding trees and grasses. White really stands out(in a bad way)

OUCH! Not if you want it to match your platinum white tow vehicle.

The Champagne color is what got us looking at the Rockwoods. They look great.

Just happened to find "our" floor plan and jumped on it.

Look at some older white Rockwoods. Not so nice.

I don't buy the heat difference. May be a degree or two, but that varies anyway (shade, clouds, etc).

Pkg

As others have said, this is an upgrade on the standard pkg. It is called Emerald in the Flagstaff trailer, we have. I really like it better as it looks clean longer and hides dirt streaks, IMO not enough difference in cooling to matter. I have this pkg. and it adds interior improved items along w/ exterior trim. Live in TX.

Champagne is now standard for the 2019 MY and white is the upgrade option. See post #4 and look at the 2019 brochures.

Was at the dealer yesterday and the lot was full of Champagne colored Rockwoods.

If they (and FR) thought white would sell better, they'd all be white.

Let that sink in.

White is an option, but I can't see it being an "upgrade" other than the fact you'll pay for it.

And a few years ago when champagne was an option, dealers mostly carried white. Yes, the white exterior is a $290 option but it also includes a lower beltline in gray gelcoat, not tape, and different graphics. Not arguing one is better. We selected it to match our platinum white tow vehicle.

To each his own.

True.

Can you post a pic of your tow rig and trailer? I'd like to see the combo.

My truck is white also and I'd like to see what that looks like.

Thanks

I recently went from a white TT to a tan, with tan roof TT. Both about the same size, both with a single 13,500 btu air conditioner. The white TT would struggle to stay cool inside if it was in the sun an outside temperature was over about 80f.
The tan TT struggles to stay cool in the sun at 70f. The air conditioner has been tested by the dealership then I added insulation to the evaporator, finessed the fan positions and made sure there's no crossover between intake and output sides. I also painted the AC cover white. This helped some, but the white TT cooled a lot better than the tan one.
If I ever buy another TT, it'll be white, with white or reflective silver roof. And I am in Michigan. I can't imagine how hot some of these new, dark colored TT 's get in hot sunny climates.

Ordered a white 2019 Rockwood 2504S and picked it up last July, really liked the white because I have not seen that many down this way, nice TT but am looking at trading it for a 2020 Rockwood 2608BS. Probably go with white again, really like the front kitchen and all of the windows.

You will love the 2608. I'd like to see it in white.

Well broke down yesterday and ordered a white 2608bsd, was told it should come in as a 2020. Did get the 2nd ac and extra maxxair vent fan in the kitchen. Wish there was an option for a beefier rear bump so a receiver for a bicycle rack could be installed. Went with manual stab jacks (might have made a mistake, guess we will see). Can't wait for it to come in and hit the camping trails. Will be pulling it with a 1500 GMC but hope to upgrade to a 2500 sometime down the road.

Congrats on getting the 2608. The 2nd AC and extra vent fan or great add on's.

I have a not so funny story about the electric stabilizers, so I think you made the right call. Mine currently has manual stabilizers on the front due to my front electric unit quitting on me the day we left for a 10 day trip...

I have the champagne colored Rockwood Signature fifth wheel, and when I compare it to my white Sandpiper bumper hitch TT we used to pull, the skin does get much hotter in bright sun. I was scheduled to be in a camping location with no shade in 2017 with temps predicted to be 95+. I knew interior temps would approach 88 or 89 with the A/C going full blast in late afternoon.

So I went on eEbay and bought a bunch of 4' x 8' sheets of mylar film for about $20 and used painter's tape to put them on the south and west sides of the RV to reflect the afternoon heat. (Mylar is the thin foil material they call "space blankets" because of its heat reflecting capablity.) The difference was amazing and with the mylar reflecting most of the sun's energy temps inside stayed in the lower 80's. The temperatures in upper cabinets were greatly reduced as the skin just did not get much hotter than the air temperatures. Now I carry some Mylar sheets anywhere where we camp where the temps could get really hot while camping in full sun.

Yes the camper looks a little funky covered in Mylar film but it peels off easily and keeps our dogs and us cool, so I am happy.
