Question Rockwood warranity

I just purchased a Rockwood 8285WS 5th wheel from a dealer in another state 150 miles from where I live. If I have any warranity problems in the first year, do I have to take the trailer back to the dealer 150 miles away or will a Forest River dealer in my immediate area honor the warranity?

I initially tried purchasing this Rockwood model from local Forest River dealers but they either didn't carry the Rockwood brand or refused to order this model from the factory with my specifications.

If you read your warranty it tell you to deal with the dealer where you bought the trailer. If you try somewhere else they may look at you with big eyes. They will probably tell you go go to your dealer where you bought it. In the auto industry this problem does not exist because if you buy a ( exemple ) chevy you can go where you want for your warranty service.

I bought mine from RV Wholesalers. I use a local mobile repair guy to do all my repairs. Also I have had success with the original manufacturer on some items. My power tongue jack broke. The manufacturer sent me a new one.

I would start checking with your local dealerships. It may not be a big of a deal since they do not sell the Rockwood.

Not all dealerships can sell all brands. My nearest dealership can't sell FR because of another close by dealership that does sell FR units

Thanks for getting back.
If I do encounter any warranity problems, I am still going to pursue the local Forest River dealer to help me. He DOES NOT carry the Rockwood line so what has he lost by my purchasing one in another state? He still benefits if he honors my warranity since Forest River will reimburse him for work on my trailer.
