The filter system that came with our Rockwood 5ver works well. Not to difficult to access on our floor plan. It has never leaked or failed in any other way. Changing the cartridge always gets the floor wet, but that's why we have old towels. With our usage of the trailer, one filter a year is fine.

The cartridges are available at Lowes and Home Depot. Way cheaper than "real RV" filters. The cheaper filters seem to have better flow.

If I use pink anti-freeze I will put a capped soda bottle in the canister so that less anti-freeze is used. If the water is especially nasty I will use an external Camco filter as well.
