I replaced my valve in the loo. The one in the galley seems to be OK so far.

Keep both grey and black tank valves closed until you are ready to dump. Always best to dump full tanks

Regardless of how everyone uses their valves...

The sewer gas should not be sucked into the living space by negative pressure created by the Maxair fan.

Either the Air admittance valve is bad (or not designed to handle negative pressure)....or there is a leak somewhere.

Could very well be the black tank valve under the bathroom lavatory that is defective. I removed mine completely along with all the hose.

Isn't this valve on the sink drain which empties into the grey water tank, not black? What am I missing here?

The valve is piped directly to the black tank flusher.

Was deposited in the garbage can. Don't need a vacuum break on a pressure water line and the tank is vented anyway. Works just fine if not better due to getting rid of the 90d elbow.

You obviously don't know much about the consequences of a cross connection.

Nothing to cross connection or contamination. The inlet hose still goes into the tank flush as it did before, just eliminated a useless valve restriction and about 7' of hose.
