should we join the rockwood club

we sold our pop up this spring and have been looking for a travel trailer we really like the rockwood 8316 with the bunks and figure the bunk set up will serve our 4 kids well ages 12-5. We can get a new 2010 8316ss with a reese wt dis hitch for 21400 plus of course tax and state fees. We have seen much cheaper trailers won't name brands but you can see why some brands don't cost as much. This 8316 comes loaded 2 tv's tank heaters you shaped table fold out couch power front jack doesent seem like dealer will go any lower. Seems like lots of you folks one here have had good results with rockwoods

Welcome to FRF,

Being I'm on my 2nd Rockwood, I'd say "Go for it".

Welcome
$21,400 is OK but being it is a used 2010 and not a 2011 I'm make him an offer of $19,950. The moment you take it off the lot it is now 1 yr old and you lost a few grand. Have you looked around to see what others are selling for?

Here is the NADA link to find out what the real cost is.
NADA LINK for 8316SS

Good luck!

Have you checked out RVWholesalers.com? I just ordered a new 2011 5er from them and so far so good. They discounted my 5er (Rockwood 8280WS) almost 14K from MSRP. It was cheaper than most used 09 or 10s.. There service has been mediocre but for 14K I will put up with a lot.

Just a thought.

When was the trailer built? You can find this date on the street side exterior where the trailer weights are printed. This at least gives an idea how long the trailer has been sitting around.

My '09 was a year old when Ifound it. That was 1 of the things I told the dealer when I bought it. Also, I asked him if he wanted to sit on it over the winter (bought it last Sept') until this spring.
