Shower door adjustment

Hi. Has anyone adjusted the shower door on their Rockwood? Our shower door has gone out of adjustment, too many miles on the interstate and I don't see where or what has changed. I stopped at a dealer and he said there was a screw at the top of door that is used for adjusting, but it didn't do anything. We have a 2007 Rockwood 8296SS. Any ideas or suggestions will be most appreciated.

Hi Steven:

We haven't had that problem yet.

We also have a 2007 Rockwood with a Garden Tub for a shower. Our model is the 8293SS with the bathroom in the back were yours is in the middle.

When you say your door is out of adjustment, what does that mean exactly? Does the door not close completely, and the water leaks out of it?

Has the dealer contacted Forest River? You should still be under warranty like we are, but we did add the extended warranty.

So far we had over 25 days of camping including a 3500 mile trip from our home on Long Island to Florida and back.

A bad DVD player was the only problem we had, and our dealer was able to swap it out for new replacement.

Regards, Dave and Phyllis, Long Island New York.

Hi.

Seems like you two like camping as much as we do. What I meant by out of adjustment is this. When we first got the trailer the shower door was half an inch off of the bottom sill all the way across. Now it's uneven, half inch on the hinge side but touching on the other. I managed to get it off of the sill (just) but I had to shift the whole shower. No leaks though. We were only half way through our trip to Florida when we noticed it was rubbing. A four week trip covering about 7500 miles.

I would list the problems I've had but it's too long for the forum. We're trying having our second ConcertTone replaced and after the Florida trip we had both axles replaced. They we're out of alignment from the factory. Hoping this years trip to Louisiana goes better.

Happy travels,
Steve and Donna

Hi Steve and Donna:

Sorry to hear you had so many problems with your unit. How did you know that both axles were out of alignment? Were the tires wearing out un-evenly faster than they should have?

When we had the problem with DVD player corrected, they swapped out the whole Concert Tone unit.

As far finding someone having the same problem with the shower door you have, you may want to try "The Rockwood / Flagstaff Owners Forum". You would have to register the same as you did to this one.

The webpage information is as follows:

http://rocky06fs.forumco.com/default.asp

Our trailers seem to have similar specifications. I wonder what you are using to pull your trailer. In my case I've been using a 2007 Chevy Tahoe with a 4:10 axle setup and it seems to do it pretty good.

Since I just retired recently we have been taking mostly short trips. We leave tomorrow for a 1 week trip to Sturbridge Mass.

Keep in touch; we do have Wi-Fi and Broad band capabilities to get on to the internet.

Regards,
Dave and Phyllis LI, NY…

Dave & Phyllis,

Before we got home I noticed one of the front tire scalping on the inside. When the snow melted we took the trailer into an axle specialist to have the alignment checked. By the way the cost of checking the alignment wasn't covered under warranty. The axle shop found all four tires to be toed out, all at different angles. Forest River covered the cost of installing the axles and the axle manufacture covered the cost of the axles and the shipping.

We're pulling with a 1997 Dodge 2500 with 5.9 diesel and 3:72 rear end. Pulls great, we only slowed down on one hill on the trip to Florida and averaged 14.5 miles per gallon. Lowest was 10.7 in Saskatchwan - it was windy and cold. Best was 17.8 from Denham Springs to Laffeyette - it wasn't windy and it was hot

Hope the weather is good in Sturbridge.

Michael,

If current plans hold we should be in Louisiana about mid September. The couple that we know id Denham Springs just bought a trailer and I think we might be going with them to Tickfaw state park.

We'll give you a holler when we in the state.

Ah,..Tickfaw State Park.
We love camping there. It's such a beautiful park, only about 35 minutes from the house. We're just down the road from Denham Springs, in Prairieville.

Yeah,.. Give us a holler.
